Barnett was only useful if we could get him this year

It may be, but this is an extremely unreliable source.
1. Galvin was always going to the dogs where his junior trainer was stationed

3. Dragons offered Keon insane money. Parramatta aren't that desperate. So easy to understand this. They offered 5 years and we offered 4. Who wouldn't take the extra 1 million????????

See when your in the race for talent are we really in the race.
JR interviewed and talked with all these guys and we got Pezet for a year.
This is one of the issues that has to change going foward we can't continue to put up note interest and just get cut off at the pass.
Much like the court case we just won recruitment is as important we need to be strategically better about landing these guys.
What I suspect in Barnetts case is he wants to go to a winner he's got a 2 year window and Parra isn't in that premiership window hence why I think Barnett went to the Broncs if it as reported.
Me I just would keep my cards close to my chest and not say anything about who we are targeting and like I've always said develop our own and look farther & wider.
Bingo. When you look at our juniors, our middles seem the strongest. You've got Sam Tuivaiti, Luca Moretti and Charlie Guymer all with NRL experience. Then you have Jordan Teancum Brown who looks like he'll debut later this year at this rate, then Ryda Talagi. Big money middle forwards would be an initial nice to have, but long term we want to be bringing guys through the grades in those positions as that's where you save money on your cap and can spend it in the spine.

Honestly I'm glad we didn't land any of these guys. Galvin is a brat and has turned the dogs shit since going there. We have Lorenzo coming through who I'm very excited for. Same as Pezet one year deal which im happy with, same as the Galvin situation with Lorenzo coming through.
Keano isn't worth a million dollars for 5 years especially with all our middles we have coming through.
Barrett is to old we don't need another old head
Out of all of them Galvins the one that we really wanted they put 7 figures in front of him and years to boot for that guy and it still wasn't enough.It would have given you a long term window of 3-4 years with Iongi Smith/TDS Moses and Galvin by not landing him we are basically resetting again next year.
If I were to take one of the mentioned Galvin was the one a perfect fit at 6 and him and Moses perfect..He would have sped up the rebuild quickly and was like for like after losing Brown.
