  • Even though we have Smith at least so not like we need a Hooker badly, it is still ridiculous. They offered more money, but come on. We build a COE, have a coach that is here for future, try hard to get him and would have sold him on being the future 9 and decides to go to a place that is in the news for the wrong reasons and will more likely have a new coach if not next year the year after.

Just embarrassing. Seraph said we are the new Tigers, Tigers at least could get certain talent like Luai and Turuva to the club. I copped Galvin not signing but if we cannot get Da Silva even how are we going to get names that aren't wanted by other clubs. We get 35 year old de Belin who was not wanted, that is how we get talent.

Just over it and getting ridiculous. I repeat it is not Da Silva per say i am pissed over, more so how we go hard for someone and just never get them.

    • Some guys reckon MON is smart enough to sign Katoa 😝

      • I had a bit of optimism that we had a lot of cash we could now get some players, may need to overspend but we can get players we want. When we cannot get young talent like Galvin and Da Silva and attract de Belin who turns out was not wanted and is 35, optimism dwindles. If we had some cap space i could give leeway, but we have the most in the comp you would imagine with who is gone.

There is a reason nobody wants to come to Parramatta, it needs to be sorted and quick or Ryles stands no chance. We sprout our COE as the new shiny toy to seperate us from everyone else and sign a 35 year old that nobody wanted and cannot get over a 20 year old Hooker looking to start.

Sarantinos said in the TCT interviews that they were busy with recruitment and identifying who they want. All well and good unless you get them. As seen from Galvin response it seems we have no plan B's either so just go with what we wanted to replace in the first place. Papali'i looks the goods at 5/8, just excuse the fact we tried to just bring Galvin in and not give him a shot to be our 5/8.

        • It is quite bad LB. Tigers got 3 wooden spoons and managed to sign Api, Jarome, Turuva, Terrell and Taylan, Kai Pearce-Paul, Fainu brothers, Royce Hunt, etc.

          • I think the fact they had Benji did more for their signings than their recruitment team

            • All it took was one. They overpaid Luai at the time and that got the rest over.

          • And where has signing all them players got them exactly 🤣 nowhere

        • Galvin is overrated and no doubt this hi, ho silver is too. If players don't want to come to Parra then tough, they miss out don't they. Sooner or later players who want to play for Parra will turn up. I seriously wouldn't be too concerned. The Eels are going alright considering they're treated unfairly by the NRL, Judiciary and referees/bunker and they'll get better.

          • Sure hope so CE. If juniors are real deal then so be it. We have Ryley Smith though why go for Da Silva in first place if Smith is just fine. If he wants improvement then fair enough but Smith is fine on his own, you can win with Smith as i said in other blogs.

            • Galvin was attracted to his junior coach, the main reason he went to the Dogs.

Da silver wants a guaranteed starting role at his next club. Right now Smith is as good as him with the ball and alot better then him in defence. Da silver is very ordinary defender.

The positive is we are NOT paying massive overs to secure players. If they don't want to be at the Eels we don't want them.

In saying that, maybe it's time to look at our recruitment management. How much input and hands on approach dose Ryles have.

"So who are all these players that you know Parramatta recruitment went hard at and missed out on.
Bar Galvin, I can't think of any where Ryles or the recruitment team acknowledged they went hard at. The MEDIA saying we are, or are favourites to land…"

"Agreed. I think Arthur is running out of potential options for an NRL head coaching role. Manly and Newcastle seem to be the only two where coaches are on the verge of being punted. Not sure about North Queensland and Payten, but I can't see that…"

"Why, right now Smith is a better nine then Da silver. Maybe Parra threw him a one offer, he said no and Manly offered more."
