3rd party deals. Some have them, some dont.

In that instance, we already have an imbalance since there isnt a level playing field.

Parra have a powerful leagues club behind them? Why can't the LC legally beef up Parra's player wages?

Why can't the LC money be regarded 3rd party agreements?

  • Id like to hear from Bernie exactly what our clubs doing in regards to TPAs, are we taking advantage of the rule to the full of our ability like the roosters, souths, Broncs etc.

I understand we'd have a lot less chance of picking them up as much as a one team one town Broncos, weve got a lot of competition in Sydney and we dont have a thoroughbreds organisation like the Broncs but we should be doing everything we can to be on even keel with a few of these other clubs.

The club obviously cant organise them but we need to be doing everything we can to utilise the rules to keep up with the other clubs who obviously have some very smart people running them and sitting on their boards.

    • We can’t do anything as a club in regards to TPAs
  • Once, the mighty clubs ruled the league. Canterbury, Parramatta, Manly were the top sides with strong league clubs behind them. Well that wasn't fair on the other teams so they brought in a salary cap so all teams are now equal. As you can see, things are much better now, they achieved what they were after and the Super League & NRL suck hole teams rule the NRL, job well done!
    • Pretty spot on summary actually.
    • I think the NRL has a fixation on growing the game in areas where it is either weak (Melbourne, Easts) or dominant (Brisbane, NQ). This doesn't make sense as they have left out NZ from the "weak" areas, but more crucially left out Western Sydney in the "dominant" areas. Western Sydney is one of the fastest growing economies in the country, which will bring in more potential league supporters in the coming years, but what is the NRL doing to gain an advantage here? We have some very strong clubs in this area who could probably do with a helping hand that the "chosen" clubs have had for the past decade or more, but all we get from the NRL is a 12 point deduction, fines (where has that money been invested?) and see ya later. Not good enough Toddy - you need to get this right sooner rather than later. The Wanderers and GWS are growing stronger year by year and could very well overtake some of the Sydney NRL clubs in terms of members, gate takings and merchandise sales very soon.

  • They simply take all nrl fans for granted but especially Western Sydney.
Unfortunately Todd will be long gone when the damage is realised. And that will be when our kids care more about GWS or WSW than they do about the Eels or the NRL in general. It’s 100% going that way and the NRL is running out of time to turn it around.
