I know some people have been critical of the Parramatta front office for not securing a sponsor or for the BA recruitment drive not being very active in comparison to the other teams but looking at the landscape now I think we are seriously well poised to reap some big benefits.
Recruitment 2018
We have secured MOSES and EVANS only for 2018 and beyond. However, the report this week that up to 11 clubs will need to shed players to be salary cap compliant in 2018 puts us in a great position to pick bargain buys, possibly pay unders and to have something we havent done for years have CHOICE ..... No doubt BA knows what he wants and is waiting for the domino effect to take place and we will secure some great buys in coming months. SMART...
Sponsorship
With our team returning to semi finals for the first time in 9 years and playing a great brand of football with little or no controversy this year, coupled with a world class stadium to come in 2019 I think we will secure a World Class major sponsor that will blow everyone out of the water. I dont know any inside information but I see it happening. I would expect naming rights to the stadium will be a huge drawcard and Parramatta being the second city within Sydney a huge incentive for potential sponsors. When your a team on the up, investors will come on board.
Knowing the value of market dollar
Smart business men know what the value of the commodity is. They understand what the market is and they know what they will pay for a certain commodity. At the time many critics barked that Mitchell MOSES was well overs for his potential rather than exposed form. WE can now see with the right structures and coaching he is a superstar in the making. OVERS - surely not, Some players such as Mitch REIN would have been wearing the Parra no 9 except he priced himself out of the market. We went with KING and we have seen how well that went for us. By suddenly having business acumen men in charge they KNOW what they value of market price is and how to secure best value. I am sure BA draws up a list of players and the negotiation commences. The business model kicks in and we set up what the market value is and what we expect or are willing to pay. No more paying OVERS.
The front office, Max, Bernie, need to be applauded in my opinion. They have handled the re-engineering and basically re branding of the Parramatta eels with class and confidence. Our talented coach has been able to COACH and the results are there for all to see.

Not insulting you there mate. These two are smart at putting out fires and keeping the business going ahead with fanfare or failure. BA had too many hats to wear previously and that was not fair and now he is the coach and recruiter... and is killing it as a result.
Is our merchandise any worse than other clubs? I thought most of these are copies for each club from the NRL. Not sure how much leeway we have there, but maybe that is something for the club to take up with the NRL in future. For now there are more pressing needs. Chatswood wasn't built in a day.
Exciting times and I wouldn't want to change anything right now from the top down , but the administration team still leave a lot to be desired in my opinion . Don't get me wrong Bernie and max seem to have stabilised the joint , for that I'm very happy with them .
But at this point in time I'm seeing Brad and Bellamy locked for coach of the year , and that's why we are in such great shape .
But Pirtek did have another 2 years to go .
