Whoever thinks we are being harsh on Burt is joking.

The kick was very kickable for a kicker of his quality. I think a strugglng Benji would have slotted it over blind folded.

Dont blame Burty?? haha who do we blame the coach again.

Im sick of fans blaming the coach, the ceo, the staff. Its time to kick sum players arse.

We have an attitude problem with the players full stop. If you dont wanna put in 100% then piss off!

  • I think your entire blog defeated your own argument. Burt WASN'T tp blame. It should not have come down to that kick, full stop.
  • Regardless of the penalty goal. Burt doesnt do nothing for us coming out from our line.

To be competitive in todays NRL the team must have wingers and centres that can carry the ball back with gusto and speed from there own try line. Thank god INU is gone, and i think we should get rid of old legs stick figure Burt as well. He cant even difuse a bomb for goodness sake!
  • Exactly...it should never have been that the Eels had to rely on that 1 kick to remain in contention....There were other opportunities, not only in the game but also the season, where the team could have capitalised on certain moments so that that particular goal did not factor into the end result...

    Come on, be fair, buzz....
  • you say it shouldnt but sorry to say IT DID. if he had kicked it im sure the score would have been 20-20 am i right?
  • i agree with u 2 the team has under performed in the game and also all year.

but seriouslly he should have kicked the goal, plzzz im burning thinking about it tryn to understand how he missed it haha
    • Buzz i think you're talking out of anger and being upset, tomorrow when you watch the game again you'll come to your senses and realise that Burty suffered as a result of the whole team not putting in. IT SHOULD NOT have come down to him kicking that goal and dont forget benji missed a couple too so really they should have been leading by way more.

Its not Burts fault because we are not a one man team.
  • It did but it also came down to dropped balls and other mistakes during the game....he was the last chance and yep, he blew it but had the team lived up to their potential during the season, it wouldn't be left up to 1 of the team. Share the blame, is all I'm saying...
  • F*#k off. Burty is a Parra legend. Yeah he shoulda got that kick, but there have been a thousand "shoulda's" this year for whatsammatta, no won was blaming burty last week. The pressure of that kick would have been pretty hard to deal with, and bad luck has been dogging us all year too. The pressure would not be there if everyone had got busy earlier in the year.
  • guys look at this game again
the first half we had maybe 40% possession tops, we did well to keep the deficit to 4 (ok fine they helped us a fair bit too)
we could have been down 30-0 at half-time

burt's kick wasn't all, there were lots of handling errors, pretty poor refereeing decisions (eg tahu taken out last play), the tigers were firing and everything went against us.
if you want proof of that, think back to the chargedown in the 42nd minute. hayne kick from the defensive 40, farah chargedown. the ball exploded off the turf, bouncing about 5 metres up, 5 metres sideways to go straight into the arms of liam fulton. just not our day, but well played to the boys. never gave up.
  • I have a few words to sum up any such argument that Burt was fault for this, and please excuse any rashness that may occur.

    Burt WAS NOT to blame.
He missed a kick yes? Well whoopy-freaking do.
The game should not have come down to that, hence the blame cannot be laid upon Burt.
