PARRAMATTA playmaker Corey Norman is on thin ice at the Eels after being issued with a $20,000 breach notice for drinking while he was on the club’s injured list.

The Eels and Norman could be headed for a split with Fox Sports learning Parramatta has been shopping the talented playmaker to rival NRL clubs.

Norman, 27, is signed with the Eels for the remainder of this season and next year but it appears Parramatta may be looking to squeeze him out.

The Eels star was one of the club’s best players last year on the blue and gold charge into September.

But like most of the Eels roster this season, Norman has been up and down.

The Eels are in the midst of a roster overhaul and the latest breach notice against Norman appears a strong indication the club is prepared to let him go.

Norman has received previous breach notices when he was suspended for eight matches at the end of the 2016 season.

Eels coach Brad Arthur shifted him to fullback for the round 12 match loss to the Broncos before Norman sustained a foot injury.

He has not been named in the Eels 21-man squad to play against the Knights at ANZ Stadium on Saturday night due to the injury.

The Eels latest breach notice has come about after the club spotted pictures of Norman on social media drinking when he was on the club’s injured list.

Norman had $10,000 from a previous breach notice suspended, meaning the total of this latest breach notice issued by the Eels is $30,000.

A number of rival NRL clubs are expected to signal an interest in signing Norman.

  • Seriously - Fuck this clown

  • I told Super and the others that it wasn't injury that kept him out - they didn't believe.

Now the truth is coming out.

Bye bye Norman you knuckle head
    • It's literally in the title that he was fined for drinking while injured.

But yes, that's the end of Corey at Parramatta. I have a feeling he'd be on a no-drink list following his issues in 2016 so we may be able to release him without having to pay him out.

      • wasn't that how the foran saga was finalised, let them screw up, issue them a breach notice, then another breach notice, negotiate a settlement for their departure and bye bye.

Contract terminated with minimal risk of wrongful termination, one years contract value saved.

If it pans out that way, then there is another 900k available for 2019 and no playing another club for him to play there. Sounds like win-win to me.

    • you got to ask too, why hayne is still on the injury list, with a hip flex injury , when a st george player has it and missed no games, and now been selected in the nsw team.

we see hayne every week  in a suit at the games is hayne asking for retirement compo, and wont play for the eels much in the future?.

our two buys for this season ,have been a waste of cap... hayne and evens, and browns been out a long time too. but maybe back this week...

      • I think De Belin's injury is a hip pointer injury, they're different. They're both extremely painful but a hip pointer is bruising of the tip of the hip bone and a hip flexor injury is an injury to the muscles around your hip. You can play with hip pointers with the aid of a painkiller but hip flexor injuries are f*cked and can take up to 8 weeks to heal. I did mine playing footy and was out for about 3 months... in saying that I was doing a Corey Norman every weekend though

      • re: Kane Evans -Whilst i agree his performance hasn't been good by a long stretch, I think people need to give some more time for him to get used to playing in a different team, with different players who have different styles than he is used to. How long does it take the average human to get used to working for a new organisation when they switch jobs...for me its about a 4-6 month ramp up before I am at full throttle in terms of performing my absolute best and smoothly etc. Things can take time to gel. Kane hasn't exactly been playing week in and week out since he got here...

Understand fans are frustrated.....but yeah just my opinion he deserves a bit more time and regular playing

    • Once again chief you’re the only one on the site who comes out and says how it is, The club is it effing joke like someone mention on this site last week we have one good year every five not good enough ,Someone needs to be accountable who gives a shit about a 20,000 members when we are coming dead last game, always remain loyal but always say the truth that’s why I only read your posts well said mate
      • Stop groveling son.  Chief is not always right

    • that being said Chief, he was seen injured by us the week before the Broncos game and anyone watching Broncos game could reasonably conclude that eh was out due to injury given he got hurt again when he went down towards the end.
