Hello fellow Parra comrades, I would like to know if any of you have had a similar experience with Foxtel TV as I have. A week ago I was pressured by the Foxtel people to switch over to satellite from cable after 8 years with this mob and the reason for this was that the NBN will be taking over as from 2020 in my area and the telstra supplied cable network will be no more. I was in 2 minds about doing this and almost cancelled the tech appointment but again was pressured to go ahead with it. Anyway I got it done and that was a massive mistake on my behalf, first of all they didn't tell me that I would be losing all my free to air HD channels which I would now have to fork out money for a digital antenna plus installation also the satellite system wasn't even 24 hours old until I started experiencing issues with it such as picture freezing and picture skipping if its a recorded program. I rang a number of times to complain and to get my cable back and was finally told on Thursday past that a tech will come out on Thursday week (7days) to reinstall my cable but here's the icing, My foxtel has been cut off until the tech gets here; their reason; "we have had to put your job down as a moving house order" they explained that this is the only way I can get the cable back, I said why didn't you cut the service off when you put the satellite in they said 'because that was an upgrade'...Does this make sense to anyone out there as I'm sure most of you would probably have Fox...and also I advise you not to get satellite unless its absolutely necessary. Thoughts please.

i have had foxtel satellite for 17 years and never had any issues. The odd storm might knock it out for 5 mins, but that was about it
I used to have fox in an apartment building that had satellite. It was ridiculously annoying that you couldn't get 7, 9, 10 etc which would mean that at the time, I couldn't use my fox IQ2 to record Parra games or anything else.
Does ‘Fetch tv’ provide Rugby league viewing?
I’ve had issues with Foxtel in the past and that’s probably why i don’t subscribe to them anymore. I also think they’re greedy and don’t give any benefits for long term customers.
i had a shit fight with fox on friday. i rang to have it connected to new address they wanted to charge me $100
i said what about long term subscribers.i should not be charged. they said because the new address has not been connected before then a tech has to come out to install . so i said fine dont connect just cancel my account .
oh could you hold ? sorry to keep you .yes we will waive connection fee. works every time threaten to cancel and you will get discounts free bundles etc.tne reg price for my package is $95 mth i pay $64mth
Living in Perth only option is Satellite , they rang me last year and offered me IQ 3 with free installation and only $5 extra per month . I havent looked back HD channels plus all the free to air stations which wasn't possible with the old one .
