Braith Anasta said on NRL360 that Zac Lomax may have played his last game for Parramatta, and is very close to signing a deal with R360 worth around $3m a season to jump ship.
Braith said he heard a rumour from someone close to R360 and it's serious.
Peter Vlandys also advised on the same show that anyone who has an NRL contract and signs with R360 will suffer consequences.

Fuck😂not the end of the world but whatever man shit happens. His not happy on the money his on is what it is
Be disappointed if its true but the fiqures im hearing it would be impossible to turn down Saudis are doing it with football originally some old players now young fella in there prime signing 3-4 year multi million dollar deals then able to return to good comps with a few good years of football left.
Whats sneaky pete going to do? Ban then from playing? In a league that they want to leave that pays left?
He may be the 1st to leave but won't be the last NRL should get in bed with R360 and release players in the off season maybe they invest money in the NRL in return win win
Release in the off season?
I thought the season was already too long and taxing on the players bodies
Yeah depends on the situation and money involved lol
I call BS Parramatta would still have to release him from his contract and I don't see this happening maybe his manager is trying to get his client a raise!
Technically he has to be released from his contract, but the reality is you can't force someone to play...so if he doesn't want to be here, the contract is effectively dead.
And there will be all the usual bleating about any players taking up R360 contracts won't be allowed to come back etc...but we all know if the player has talent (like Lomax) they'd let him back in an instant.
When a player has options like this the club and the league really don't hold any cards. Money talks. If Lomax is offered a mint he'd be silly not to take it - sports careers are fleeting.
You are right we cannot force him to play, though we also cannot be forced to release him from his contract. If he chooses to play in Union, we still have his rights. If he goes to another NRL team, we will ask for something to release him. If we don't then we are idiots.
sbw had to pay the dogs 500k for a release lomax might have to pay a lot more if the eels play hardball
It's a competition in another country, no one can stop him from leaving. The problem would be, he probably will struggle to come back if he wants to. If he leaves 1 year into a contract id be telling him he's not welcome back
If he gets $3m to play a few weekends a year in a literal tax haven, I don't think he's probably too fussed about coming back.
This would set him up for life after 2 seasons.
