        • I have a feeling thats the way its going to go. We'll at least have the best paid juniors in the league...

  • Nice one! This is the right approach. We need to spend money elsewhere and Papalii can turn into a perfectly adequate partner for Moses.

    Now extend Iongi pls!!!

    • Iongi should not be mucked around with, sign him up and upgrade his cash for 2026 and 2027.

    • Adequate = average and average = failure 95% of the time , it's okay to have adequate when adequate is surrounded by top quality but at Parramatta we don't have many top quality players .

      • This...

These guys are just so easy to please.

We've all seen this movie before and we know how it ends. We need to lock in a good spine, a good front rower, a good second rower and the adequates can fill the other positions.

  • Wow, we must really be going all in on winning the reserve grade comp next year.

'I wonder when we will turn our attention to recruiting talented first graders, surely the pool of talent is getting smaller to choose from.

    • I mean depth is always necessary. Many here complain about our depth and how we don't have it, well Papali'i can be depth.

Not saying this is you but a lot here would expect us to sign Nathan Cleary as the back-up to Moses and anything less is not good enough.

Teams with the best depth do well. If Iongi misses game time, Papali'i is a fine replacement.

      • Ryles is laying the foundation of the club, need to start from the bottom and work his way up. Building a core of young players who will develop and improve together. Will sprinkle in some veterans as well.

    • The club actually had higher standards when Steve Sharp was chairman , granted he screwed the club by cheating the cap but at least he knew what was required to compete with the top club's , he just went about it the wrong way .

The current lot don't actually know what is required to compete with the elite , you can't fail for this long in recruitment and not make changes but Parramatta are a club with the  lowest of standards so we can't expect much .

      • Can Parra keep this course and continue building to something better? The jury is still out. But at least this time around with Ryles we can see a slow change in direction. Signing promising young talent instead of old or lazy players. I reckon we're still missing a good centre and a forward or two.

Also standards weren't really any better before.. You can count the number of star recruits we've had with one hand. There is a reason why apart from the 09 run, from 2008-2018 we only made the top 8 one other time..
