Currently, if Russell or JAC are injured, Kelly comes in to left centre and Russell to left wing. One further injury and what is the Eels' plan?
Would not Xerri be starting left centre post-Russell? The Eels do need to recruit in the outside backs . . .
Also, Gould said "nothing to see here" and a Gould is bald face liar so we know Xerri wants out.
We need a quality centre not numbers.
I'd love us to get Xerri. He has the whole package of a Class A centre. Blows both Russell and Penisini out of the water.

Xerri immediately becomes our best centre, if he was to join us. The only issue i have is with upstairs, is he the team man with the team ethos that Ryles is after. I genuinely don't know what type of person he is in a team environment. Selfish or accomodating, he did just throw the baby out with the bathwater by publicly realeasing he wanted out of the Dogs immediately.
The size, the speed, the talent, the defense would make us a better team, that's a given.
Just Look at the comparison between Xerri and Crichton for 2025
Xerri: Metres 131 avg, 9 tires, 15 Line Breaks, Tackles 456 , Games 24, Post Contact Metres 1152m
Crichton: 94 m avg, 3 tries, 14 Line Breaks, Tackles 220, Games 21, Post Contact Metres 465m
Shame Xerri didn't kick off a couple weeks earlier so we could straight swap him for Lomax.
He'd make a lethal combo with the Fox.
I think the dogs are clearing money for a play at Bula from tigers. For a player that said he wants to stay with tigers and a club that want to keep him, it has taken ages to get a deal done.
Wouldn't surprise us.
