Is it though? Perth got him. I mean hell he could work out to be very good, but Perth gave him ok money and a 3 year deal. Where was everyone else getting him? He's played 1 NRL game, had issues with defence and injuries over the past 2 seasons. I think an ok NRL deal was fine for him on near minimum to see how he goes but what Perth gave him not many if any would have matched.

Obviously you do not read and see how i have said Suli would be a bad signing, Ryles has had some poor choices this year, Pezet signing was a disaster from the start, taking up JDB's option would be dreadful, Lorenzo might not be up to NRL and Ryles might be looking at a replacement etc. But all good only notice this time that i am the villain and against you. It's NSW Cup mate, with only 4 players who will be top 30 in 2027. Out of that, only Talagi and Lorenzo seen as future stars.

I think it was EA who pointed out the injuries to about 10-12. We've used 44 players in the Cup squad. The most of any club. I wouldn't expect too much with all that. Being realistic.

How much first grade quality depth do you actually expect a team to have? In that backline alone there are the obvious players missing from first grade, Simmonson, Penisini. Then Penisini, Tago all who are better than who is currently playing. Pezet, Fletcher in the halves. Thats our nrl back ups.
There's cleary kids there that will play first grade. Konia, Talagi, Petrus, Bloomfield, Lorenzo. Then there's a few in the maybe category.
Souths finished nsw up last year dead last with a f/a of -340. Now they are sitting comfy in 3rd. Whether people want to believe it or not an injury crisis is going to severely affect your depth.
That's not to excuse our short comings in top end talent for our nrl team. I don't think the blame should be on the 4th choice back ups but what seems to be the uneven balance of our 'big name' players.
4 players (Guymer, Nanva, Funa-Iuta and Smith) are top 30 in 2027. Lorenzo is dev and Aladmaddine is dev (which doesn't mean too much as you can use 2nd tier players anyway.
Also, Manly are last in both Cup and Flegg. Don't think anyone is talking about them and how bad they are as a club. Melbourne are 2nd last in Cup and below us in Flegg.
