2 long term suspended members of 1 Eyed will be returning today - Wiz and Frankie.
Both have been suspended since early January 2026 as the moderation team sought to refurbish the site amid a continued focus on socio-political blogs.
In my Times have Changed blog I stated both would need to clearly demonstrate a change in approach to other members on the site, as well as acknowledging that socio-political blogs are not a focus of the site.
To this end, HoE has been in dialogue with them and emphasised the code of conduct and the way it is applied.
Both Frankie and Wiz have agreed to return along those guidelines.
Again, I want to state that vigorous debate on this site remains a cornerstone of it. It's not something that will change. However, when the line of vigorous debate is crossed and it becomes persistent harassment, abuse or anti-social behaviour then the suspension hammer will come down.
I know some may not agree with this decision, and I know some on the site who previously raised concerns have been notified ahead of time.
This is a decision I have sat with for months and I believe that 5 months of suspension should indicate how serious I have taken this.
Their accounts will shortly be re-activated.
