Win the spoon or blood jnrs for next year

Simple choice: Do we want to blood guys like Papali’i now and accept a higher risk of finishing last — or keep Dyldio Brown at 6, which gives us a slightly better shot at scraping into 13th to 16th?

For mine, Ryles is making the right call. If we’re chasing a recognised five-eighth but don’t land one, and Dylan stays at halfback, then Joash Papali’i has to debut at 6 in Round 1 next year — with zero first-grade experience. That’s a big ask.

I say stuff the spoon. If you're worried about your mates giving it to you for finishing last, hit the gym, put on 20 pounds of biceps and be ready to cop it. Because for the long-term health of the club, we need to get reps into our development players now — not when it's too late.

Man up and stop worrying about finishing last because cry babies can't cope it and can't sleep at night worrying about absolute bs and writing bs blogs about who'll win it.

And why has Sandon Smith been dropped to nsw cup by  the Roosters and they've promoted old man Townsend? Is he on the way out?

  • We should keep going with the youth. I'd even back them in to avoid the spoon at this point.

  •

One thing I haven't heard spoken about regarding the benching and dropping of D Brown is,  has Browns form throughout the season been good enough to warrant his selection?? I would say it has not. Realistically,  D Brown has been way below par this season and his non selection has as much to do with his form as it has to do with giving someone a go who will be at the Eels next year.

    • Yep, we saw what happened to Manly when dce announced he wanted out.  Its so detrimental to a team comradeship when a highly regarded player is no longer going to be there.

Id say better drop him altogether at this stage of the season

  • Ryles is making the right call. If if Brown stayed at number 6 he hasn't done that much all year and his inclusion doesn't guarantee no spoon.

  • Chiefy, You have good intentions, fighting the  good fight. I'm going to go rogue & hope the answer isn't binary. Judging by Ryles' fists of fury in the box, winning means a lot to him. He did also say once being "last sucks".

    • Absolutely Ryles wants wins.  Also I think we'll avoid last even by dropping Brown to cup.  We have a host of players coming back in a week or two

  • I would of drop Dylan as soon as he said he was leaving us

Never ay NRL for us again

  • The only player of the BA group that have been moved on that may have been worth keeping is Gutherson. The rest are meh.

  • Why not add number 15 spoon to the trophy cabinet Chief..

    • Lol yes exactly.  Put the big pants on now Boyz
