I have never seen what the cliub see in him other then theyre desperate for a local product who has come through the pathways to long term NRL player. BA was going on about the club being built around him in the future.
He's a short , stocky, slow centre in an era where theyre all becomming taller and more athletic. The best centres in the comp serve it to their wingers on a plater .. Will is lucky if he puts the ball out in front of them on the mark when theres no pressure . Amongst the highlights of Lomax in reports the last few days they keep showing Will almost stuffing up an opportunity v Knights he threw hard and high. From memory he gave Simonnson a similar pass a few weeks earlier v Tigers and he lost it trying to get it back down. He bombs trys, gets caught out defensively ... just a player we've invested in that doesn't seem to have progressed positively the last few years. To me he really seems like a rugby union player with a strong tough carry whos playing rugby league.
23 years old and played 100 games . I dont think hes as athletic or skillful as guys he comes up against. His strength is his carry if he can hold onto the ball in the contact. I think the recruimtent strategy as a whole needs to shift to recruitng more athletic outside backs. Fox is our best outside back by the length of the straight without him there its almost a Cup quality backline.
It is this scenario where Kelly signing made sense, but Ryles has opted Samrani. Speaks volumes. Again maybe thinking too much into it as Kelly plays left and Will is right but still an NRL Centre.
"what about Gutherson at (1). ........it will make Chief's day if you can pull that one out of your arse.
PS Mahoney and Moses didn't get on, Brown got an offer he could not refuse and Gutho got a retirement package to take him into his…"
"You can always knock on my door with a Pen Chiefy, who would you like my autograph made out too...... Chiefy with Cheese? or a contract with an option."
"I joked before about MON but he has made some alright signings. When he first started he made the right signings. Here is a host of signings that complimented Arthur from 2019-22.
Lane
RCG
Cartwright
Papali'i
Opacic
Matterson (to start with)
Sivo…"
"That's correct.
The bush coach didn't want anyone blocking boods Arthur.
Also. Jakey would be our 6 if ba wasn't still in the joint and the fans didn't stand up for the club"

Apparently he was training still, prob on the lighter side was touch and go for this week
Groin injuries from sudden movements including changes of direction. All that turning and chasing by Penisini had an effect? 🤪

One thing on Will's side is he is only 23. He is not in his prime yet. But also you'd argue how long do we wait for potential and that's fair too.
