I still think Penisini is worth a go at 2nd row. His best qualities are his hard running and worse quality is 1 on 1 defense against faster centres and decisions rushing in to try and stop plays. At 2nd row he is running style is suited if he can be taught how to hit the right line and his defensive decisions will become easier with less threats from faster opposition.
He has been doing a lot more hit ups early in sets into set defensive lines and has the leg speed and power to get a tackle bust and quick play the ball which suits a backrower. Samrani and Nanva showed they worthy of an opportunity and should be given a chance to develop in the centre role. Obviously putting him in 2nd row next to a young developing centre is not ideal so maybe put him on the left. That side is our better defensive side out wide with JAC speed more likely to be able to cover mistakes in his defence but is already leaking points on the edge with volkman and the rotating backrowers so don't see too much downside in trying him there.

He doesn't have the repeat efforts , defensive technique . line running or constitution to compete in the washing machine. The most 1 dimensional footballer in the competition.
Defensive technique for a backrower vs a centre is very different as there is less space. I don't think his 1 on 1 is to bad it is more his decision making putting him in wrong position where players with speed expose him.
Can't be any worse than some of the of backrowers defensively that we have had but I think he runs a lot harder and would be more effective in attack them many of our options. Our depth at centre is covered by Samrani and Nanva.

His decision making is bad and his 1 on 1 tackling is bad . How many times have you seen him have a guy dead to rights on a kick chase and the guy gets away? Or the opposition throw a loose ball out the back and he can't finish the tackle on the guy who cleans the ball up ? He is a woeful footballer who just doesn't have the concentration , IQ or competitive fire to win 1 on 1 battles . I can't believe we've persisted with him this long . It may sound harsh but I just honestly feel he's that bad . I can remember him having some promising performances early in his career but there are so many bad habits in his game now here is not the place for him in centre or any other position. I'd say he'd be better of going to rugby where he wouldn't have to make so many decisions or move as quickly and his confrontational running might be of benefit but he would have a long way to go to get up to the skill level required there too. He can't even catch and pass. I feel he's been a walk up starter in our side for that long now something has gone wrong . He hasn't developed his skills or progressed as a footballer and the basic fundamentals in his game have gone be the wayside. Maybe it's him being comfortable , maybe he hit his ceiling early , maybe the modern game passed him by and he's struggled to keep touch with it ... whatever the reason if we re-sign him we are deadset kidding .
Good riddance. What a waste of an investment We did right by him, gave him coaching, gave him good deals, Very happy to be moving on, Penisini has never impressed me Him and his brother have chewed up enough space

"We are all speculating here but I definitely see it as being feasible. My speculation Burton won't stay at Buldogs or go back to Penrith to play centre because they probably wouldn't offer the coin we could. We would be offering 6/centre on very…"
