Rather Samrani! Does seem odd given the speculation of swapping him for old Barnett. Penisini can be really great at times and then really off at other times. Samrani has been very impressive and seems very strong and determined which is what Parra need at the moment
Penisini replaced some of the metres Lomax made for us last week and also in the trials by getting more involved and doing more hit ups. I'm not sure if Ryles challenged him to do this but he can make plenty metres with his size. He was also pretty good on the kick chase, again something that Lomax did well.
I like Samrani and he seems to enjoy being involved looking for work so hope he follows Penisini and Lomax in those effort areas.
He isn't afraid of doing hard runs and I think he has a bit more class and finishing ability then Penisini so hope he gets an extended go at the run in side to show what he can do.
Samrani is a bigger body with a little more speed. Anyone else think Penisini may be more suited to wing, with his strong carries and he does lack a bit of speed a skill in the centres to create opportunities for his winger. Can he be used more like a Brian To'o?

Maybe Penisini has been traded to the warriors for Barnett lol
"Hey Will, want a free all expenses paid trip to Auckland?"
"Oh boy would I?.....wait aren't we playing this week? Hello, Jason?"
Stats aren't everything, but:
Penisini V the Storm
13 runs for 157m (Eels 2nd best - Iongi 159m)
PCM's - 52 (Eels 2nd best - Kitione 62m)
Tackle Breaks - 6 (Eels 2nd best - Iongi 7)
Line breaks - 2 (Eels best, we only had 3 all up)
Tackles 9 / 4 missed (could be the issue?)
Errors - 2 (not great but not alone, Kitione 2, Moses 2, Pezet 3) - and 1 of them was a few inches off being a great solo try.
Be surprised if he's dropped, even if defense related? Especially if Pezet remains in the 17.
Yes going off those stats he's definitely picked up an injury
Penisini was not our problem last week. I know he makes a few dumb mistakes, but we have bigger problems than him.

Samrani going well but not great lateral movement when defending at centre
Will has 2 or 3 costly defensive issues every week
Handling errors every week
Cant pass to set up his winger to save himself
.. and plays centre like a rugby union player. Heavy into the collision .. no speed , no footwork.. very average player for a 100 gamer.
