Will Eels Finish Better Than 2024

Currently the Eels sit in 14th position but could have been higher if they would have beaten the Bunnies. Last year they finished in 15th position. There are 3 more rounds left and they play Roosters at home, Warriors away and lastly Knights at home. I honestly can only see them winning 1 of them. This would put them on 22 Points. The teams below them are:

Rabbits: play Dragons, Bye, Roosters

Knights: play Broncos, Sharks, Eels

Titans: play Warriors, Dolphins, Raiders

I reckon the Eels will finish in 14th spot which is one better than last year. Nothing to get excited about

      • What would you call it Trent? Sounds you rather us give Gutho the 3 years he was asking for, same with RCG?

  • The teams below us will not win another game this year. Souths will get 2 points for their bye. We will beat Newcastle, and possibly Auckland.

    • Our goal should be to win the last 3 games,

      • Agreed it should be but it won't happen.

We'll need the Roosters to clock off to win that one they have to much talent and will be too physical for us.

Warriors over there good luck they have something to play for we have very little I'd give us about a 30% chance a way from home we don't have a good record at commbank let alone away from it.

Newcastle if we some how manage to wet the bed against those guys we deserve the spoon  and will show regression for a long hard season.

PS we aren't losing against Newcastle.

        • Really don't have much to lose v Roosters all the pressure is on them. Should throw the ball around a little get the home crowd behind them and anything can happen. But yeah roosters have far more strike power then Parra and should overpower us

        • The main issue with the Roosters at this time is they need to win pretty much every game to be safe for top 8. Loss on Saturday could really hurt their chances massively. Then they have Melbourne next week. If anything they would want to give their all this week, get a win they should get and hope for the best v Melbourne.

  • As long as we don't get the spoon and the team continues to see progression I don't think it matters where we end up.

As mentioned JR has ripped the bandage off and we are at the foundation level of a rebuild so as above position shouldn't be an issue as yet.You can't be built on quicksand and those looking for a quick turnaround have to understand it's no way to build on or off the park.

Personally I still think there's more pain to come and next year will be a continual growth year.IMO 27 should be the year we give this thing a tilt.If we do it next year we will be over achieving as it's clear we don't have the talent or the roster to run with the big dogs. That's just the fact of the matter.

  • Brown should have played his last game

We're not going to finish with the spoon so its paramount now that we get games into Ritchie Penisini or Nava

Wasting time on Brown would be ridiculous for the 3 remaining games. On a few occasions he failed to back up.breakes. Apart from a few good hit ups he's been ordinary.   F him off

    😡

    • I kind of think brown is just taking the bullets instead of throwing another kid into the fire and killing their confidence. Team has so many young players in key positions already. Brown is just a body taking the bullets atp. Solid defending and looked more threatening with the ball last game.

      • Exactly I mean the only reason that the mentioned aren't getting games is they just aren't ready for FG but yet here we are throwing more kinderling on the fire.

I don't think like a lot thought round here Brown also was never a centre and is just covering a hole the club hasn't got much depth in.

I suspect just because we have juniors it's as above there probably finding there way in Cup and throwing them into FG maybe a bridge to far.

The clubs got a way to go before it becomes what fans want I know this. It's a big job this rebuild thing because for the most part it's club wide on and off the park.
