For the sake of some hypothetical off-season discussion because;

  1. I'm Bored at work, and
  2. Desperate for some Parra discussion before the season starts

Let's imagine a world where Dylan signs with another club.
(Leave out any negative sentiment about DB leaving the club for now because it may not even happen, and it's not the point of this Post)

Who are some possible recruits that you would look to sign at 5/8 to partner Moses in the halves?

Personally, I would go all-in for Galvin. Not only is this kid a superstar in the making, he's a die-hard Parra fan. This means he won't be bending the club over a barrell when it comes time to signing every contract, he would sign fair and appropriate offers (hopefully), and he would genuinly want to be here to win a premiership because it would mean just as much to him as all of us... afterall, he is one of us! That's an exciting prospect and to be honest, I would go after Galvin regardless because of this factor. If we landed Galvin I would move DB to Center or FB or whatever, I would just get Galvin in the team and worry about the positions later.

Who are some other candidates that could fit in with Ryles's new fast & agile, Eeletric footy style?

  • Think about 5/8s in systems that need a change (Cogger, Brimson, Te Maire Martin)?
  • Think about 5/8's stuck behind great players that deserve a crack (Wishart, Cole, Schoupp)?
  • Think about someone in SL that could come back (Field, French)?
  • Or, would you stick with Volkman, Hawkins, or Papalii before recruiting?

  • Go after Galvin. He bleeds blue and gold and I think we could get him back with the right negotiations.

    • I think so too.

  • I think Galvin only has a year or two before he goes into the forwards. I think the Tigers will struggle in the halves, both Luai and Galvin are left side running 5/8's. Even if Brown stays, I would still chase Galvin.

    • I was thinking Galvin could move to lock as well👌

      • They've talked about moving him to the forwards for years and he's refused. Supreme talent ur not wasting in the middle lol 0 chance of happening

        • I think it's a big chance of happening. They have a very talented half in Fainu.

  • Iongi to 6, He reminds me a lot of Munster without the left foot.

Faalogo to 1. Faalogo is ripe for the picking at the right price and right position

    • Nice one AE, that would make a great combo along with Moses and whoever he is partnered with

    • That could be an interesting option. We'll find out half way through the year I guess.

  • Galvin. But he'd be expensive to get out of Tigers (unless they're going horribly). He's got the most upside as a 6 for sure.
Wishart. Again expensive as he can see lots of involvement in FG at the Storm and a potential Premiership in his future.
Aside from those two you'd be focused on developing a younger player.
Dylan owes this club big time. He's been paid a fortune based on potential and after derailing our season with his idiocy the club stood by him. He shouldn't hesitate for a second to take up his option. We need to get rid of these mercenary players who openly flaunt themselves to the market. Maybe Dylan can join his mate at the Dragons
