Apparently Doehi was offered to us via issaac moses as soon as he took over management of him and we showed no interest;
Im guessing saying it was too early and maybe not wanting to show our hand. Some nong on here priced Doehi at 350/450k my guess is he is 650'700k and I would pay it, no questions asked.
I dont think they think that way HKF, they could buy 5 players and off load if they found themselves in that position, Gould showed us all how that worked!
Matto is still worth 400k, we pay the diff say 250 ca la vie, we have plenty.

Round 21 Preview
One of the few players in the NRL who are still without a contract for 2026, Doueihi has become one of the most in-demand players in recent weeks, especially after a man-of-the-match performance against the Bulldogs on Sunday afternoon.
The nrl won't register a contract if it puts you over the cap and I presume over the top 30. It would be pretty hard to sign a player if you couldn't guarantee the contract will be registered.
How isn't his salary relevant ? If he takes half of that salary we have another 2 or 3 rep level players. His salary literally dictates the quality of the team list we name each week. Let's say he forfeited 500k per year , throw that 500k on top of 2 meh players , and all of a sudden our rosters more lively . But he's not going to do that , so we need him to be doing everything in his power to give us 1.2 million worth of value, if he can't then he can't exactly be " upset " about our results.
What Moses can be upset about is if we've shedded a shitload of cap space and replaced it with fucking kids and journeymen and are relying on Hands and Matto to fuck off before we can sign anyone. Because that's a dead set fucking failure on our club. Like the last coach , we find ourselves needing players to play above their weight to be competitive.
It's very relevant. Especially when he decides he also wants to top it up playing rep footy with his injury plagued body.
The comment was Moses shouldn’t be frustrated because he’s on a good wage, his wage is irrelevant in that conversation because he clearly values more than just $$.
You’ve also answered a lot in your second paragraph.
Cap / financials don’t appear to be the issue for the Eels, we’ve lost a 900k per year 5/8th (who was apparently on 1mil next season) and replaced him with no one, we released a 750k fullback and replaced him with a player on 250-300k?!
What Moses is on doesn’t seem to be the issue in building a stronger side around him, it wasn't the issue in losing Brown, missing Galvin, and doesn’t seem to be the issue in not chasing Doueihi or Smith.
What rep level players have we missed due to cap space?
Penrith manage with Cleary, Edwards.
Storm manage with their entire spine on around or over 1mil each. Broncos with Walsh, Ma’m, Hunt & Reynolds.
"I doubt riki leaves the broncos to come to parra. Madge won't let him go. Only reason I'd understand it is if fifita returns to Brisbane. But fifita is linked to south Sydney. We will end up with the scraps that no one wants."
"Well do you want someone in your change rooms causing dramas? I mean Bailey could go about it differently. Play out the year for the club, discuss it in off-season and go from there. But now he is carrying on.
I would move him on but play hard ball…"

I don't understand what's wrong with Sandon TBH.
The guy has all of the skills necessary to play 5/8th and he's a great goal kicker also.
IMO this club simply just loves looking for the cheapest options and paying for talent be damned.

Dragons increase offer in race for Adam Doueihi’s signature
The news comes one day after the utility was tabled a revised deal from the Tigers.
The St George Illawarra Dragons have reportedly upped their offer to Adam Doueihi as they attempt to lure the utility away from the Wests Tigers.
One of the few players in the NRL who are still without a contract for 2026, Doueihi has become one of the most in-demand players in recent weeks, especially after a man-of-the-match performance against the Bulldogs on Sunday afternoon.
Previously catching the interest of the Dragons at the end of last week, the Red V have now decided to increase their offer to the utility, which would see him earn $500,000 a season for 2026 and 2027 on a two-year contract, per 100% Footy.
The increase in their offer comes one day after the Wests Tigers tabled a revised two-year deal to Doueihi and his management.
However, it is understood that the deal at the Tigers will only see him earn $350,000 a season, and they won't budge on offering him more money.

"One thing about Ads (Adam Doueihi) is that we're really close off the field," teammate and friend Alex Twal recently said.
"I would love for him to stay at the club, and I'm sure when that time comes, he'll make that decision. Whatever decision he makes, I'll back it.
