What about Craig ?

There has been allot of talk on this site and the general media about the storm being over the cap. They are looking at the CEO, the managers and even the players. What about the coach ?How on earth could you coach a team and not know what you're players are getting paid? Everytime a player comes on the market a coach will say "we have some space in cap" . When they realse a player it's always "we had no cap left".Have I missed something? Has Bellamy faced any questioning?

  • what about me?

  • as I have said before players signing two deals means they would have known something was up but unless they have something signed by players or admissions that the additional payments were to
be used a a means of cheating the cap then the nrl has no real evidence

the total is a cumulative total that the club is responsible for therefore the
    club takes the wrap.

I am sure the players knew that something was up bit it would have been don't ask why and we won't tell why.

I have no doubt individual players and coach knew but how do you prove it

two contracts proves the player has signed two contracts. it doesn't prove what the 2nd contracts purpose was or that
the player knew there was a systematic rort going on.

billy wouldn't have told Cameron - hey guess what I signed 2
contracts so we can rort the cap. billy would have known but I bet he didn't broadcast it!!!!!!
  • Think inglis didn't tell the others about the new boat he got thru the storm? Cam smith isn't stupid either and would have known it didn't seem right at the time signing 2 contracts ( which included fox sports contract).its only a rort if you weren't involved , hence why the lower paid players were blowing up  big time!!
    • I agree each of those players knew something was up but how do you prove they signed the additional
deals with the intention it would be used as a means of breaching cap.

there will never be admissions - we will probably have to wait for the books when they retire (or the player agents to take the
      matter to court).

  • Like everyone else I detest the Storm players for knowingly signing multiple contracts which - common sense dictates - they would have known was wrong

To compound this they avoided the voluntary contact with the external auditors the NRL engaged (Price Waterhouse Accountants I think).  There were more side steps on this issue than what you would find on the field

This leads me to a reluctant defence of Bellamey.  I believe he was one of the few from the Storm organisation that fronted the external auditors.  Reading between the lines I reckon he had nothing to hide.  Dont get me wrong the whole organisation down there are scum bags I just thought this was significant.

    • Bellamy wouldn't have anything to hide " here look at my bank accounts".....the players wouldn't volunteer as they can't hide the hidden payments... Bit like asking a builder how they can earn 30,000 a year but own 1 mill dollar house  lol cash is king unless your the tax office
  • Could be worse......we could have elevated a drug cheat to hero status:-)
