My sister in law has just announced her wedding date. Fiddy will be in the bridal party
This is obviously an honour however the issue is she is having the wedding on the same day as the grand final!!! (ive already complained about this)
To top it off, the reception is actually at one of the restaurants at the Olympic arena..
If the Eels make it to the GF, what do i do???
i can't not go to the wedding but i can't not go to a GF if the eels make it either.
can i bail the wedding and make the second half of the GF?? I will only be approx 200 metres away from the stadium
need some advise please ladies and gents

The answer to your question is a very simple one. In order to answer it, I need to ask you a question. Do you believe in the Footy Gods?
If my brother was getting married and I bailed on it, even for 20 minutes to watch the Eels play, the Eels would lose to spite me. I have done this in the past - i.e. cancelled plans in order to go and watch the Eels, and they ALWAYS lose.
So if you believe in the Footy Gods, go to the wedding and feel proud that you helped contribute to our victory. :-) If you want to tempt the footy gods, then attend the game. But I have warned you!
P.S. This all is based on the assumption that we make the Grand Final. I am so glad you are so optimistic so early in the season.
1Eyed will post the details of the game afterwards so you'll know what happened.
;)
its just that knowing my luck, parra will probably make and and win the gf and i won't be there to experience it
The reception starts at 6pm..i reckon if i can get the formatlities out of the way, i can run to the stadium and make the second half
You could ask them if they minded if you 'bailed' and make it for the second half, or that a TV be allowed at the reception for the game but they may not want their wedding taken over by the grandfinal....(although, it was a strange day to pick, I must admit...).
Then you'll have the best of both worlds, you can still be at the wedding whilst you watch the game from above the stadium.
