Ronald Volkman has signed with us for the 2025 season. Due to start training with the squad tomorrow, so I suspect the announcement would be first thing in the morning.

Between Volkman and Hawkins, feeling so much more confident with the depth in our halves!

  • Good news.

  • Apparently its only  train and trial deal. Does not make sense for the quality he was prior injury. He was legit one of the best players in NSW Cup. Perhaps it will be upgraded to a top 30 contract during the pre-season if he ticks all the boxes.

    • i think now we have him, Lussick will be let go back to SL. Volkman will step into his vacant spot

      • Don't know about Volkman as a Hooker. Wouldn't trust him being 2nd string.

        • Yea

      • It's 2024, halves and hookers are a lot more different than they were 20 years ago. Halves need skill and hookers need to work hard in defence. Very few modern players can play both positions.

    • Makes the deal even better if we got him for that.

      • I don't know much about him but I do note that he is 93kilos, which means he is big enough to player hooker.

Reading the various transcripts, a lot of people have been trying to get him.....do or does anyone think that was Ryles plan all along as grabbing him to be a hooker/half/14 ???

        Brad Drew type player?

        • He came through as a half. A very talented one at that. I think we'd be looking at him as a half given we released Asi. At 22 he has plenty of runway for developing into an NRL half.

Have a look and see. I think he is Drown cover.

          Plenty of talent.
