Saw this with the Lakers and many of the issues they have are very similar to what Parra are dealing with.
Man U much the same until the above mentioned is executed and you have the best in place off the park then we'll start to see real tangible results on it.
Alot has been put on JRs plate which just isn't realistic without the correct supporting people and a plan in place behind him.This is so key.
Back to the Lakers and there new owner he's all about spending money in the key spots especially infrastructure which is key for onfield success.

Plenty in common.Ask yourself why Man U have over spent do you think that comes from a plan or competent ownership.Do you think Man U owners have had the correct sporting structure around them to succeed.
Theres plenty to unwrap there but what comes to the fore is having the best people and a plan to succeed I suggest both Parra and Man U have very similar issues just the numbers are bigger at Man U is all.

My main point of this thread is having the right people and using the correct structure to see success.I know for a fact looking at the Lakers and Man U they were both at least a decade potentially 2 in Man Us case in not having a plan that looked anything like the top sides like City Arsenal and Liverpool use they've only just implemented similar now.
End of the day this is what we want here and while we are in the early days of something new now and may not see hay for another 2-3 seasons so who knows it's a wait and see exercise.

If your an outsider looking at what goes on at the benchmark Melbourne and what we are doing how many years are we behind them.That's the measure we have to attain as a club.
We are well behind Melbourne, but we cannot really recreate tit for tat what Melbourne or Penrith did. So we need to judge to the best that we can if the club feels like it has a direction, a togertheness and an identity.
It seem that with Ryles or since sacking BA we have changed direction a bit, but I think we need another year to see if things are coalescing (talking beyond NRL here).
Question that needs to be answered is - Is MON doing his job seriously? Or he is just waiting for someone to be available and get whoever can be easily signed. Is he seriously trying to look, scout and secure players that are really going to be productive in the field? Is there a system that he follows? In other words, does MON really work his butt off in trying to get the necessary players and do the work to compete with other teams to secure their signatures?
This is where Parra can make some infrastructure moves why not have a dedicated scouting department that's overseen by our GM of football.
I mean this to me is common sense surely we are financial enough to afford having something like this.Scouting includes every age grade even the womens under a scouting umbrella.
I have always assumed we have scouts "out there" surprised if we haven't.
Do we have a dedicated scouting deaprtment and are they working as a cohesive unit is what I'd ask.
