Short of him becoming one of the best centres in the game again and taking a massive pay cut he needs to be moved on.
If we lose Hayne (who had a pretty good season other than being injured) because we couldn't fit him under the cap and keep the likes of M. Jennings and Norman who both had woeful seasons, that show's just how much trouble this team is in. Unless a player is young and showing serious potential or has been a standout player for a long time and isn't older than 27/28, the Eels should never offer long term contracts and need to stay away from heavily back ending contracts. Almost every time I hear of a heavily back ended contract or a long term contract offered to older players, it is causing teams dramas.
Hopefully, Gurr and the board are aware of these re-occurring problems regularly popping up in the game.
It’s got to do with Hayne wanting to play for Fiji in the Rugby World Cup. Apparently we don’t want to let him do that.
We should let him do it, perhaps he can scout some talent while he is there......….right now we need all the help we can get !
We only had a few hundred k left over when we signed Moses mid-year last year. His contract was upgraded significantly this year along with Evans & Hayne & I think brown although signed had his next contract signed for a massive upgrade. We haven’t really lost anyone significant since then so I think it self explanatory why were struggling to retain & buy players
LOL Horo who told you that rubbish?
