This will be a fun game, good matchup
The width of the feild won't favour the dolphins who rely on space
Shit matchups. Should be Eels vs Tigers, and Storm vs Dolphins
Well they wouldn't do that. That fixture draws big crowds.
You'd think this would be obvious, but as LB said above an Eels Tigers vegas match would overshadow any other vegas match.
Not that it overshadows vegas match, it gets big crowds in Sydney at Commbank. Eels v Dolphins at Commbank would garner 10,000-12,000 on a good night. Eels v Tigers usually gets 18,000-20,000. That's money for NRL.
Ah fair point. But then again wouldn't they make more in Vegas? Maybe they did the math.
Not necassarily. You'll have 6 teams there overall, plus it is super expensive to get to Vegas. So though you'll get your fair share of Eels fans there, you will get more at both Wests v Eels games at Commbank. SL fans travel pretty well so they will take up spots. Wests fans i reckon travel well too.
NRL will not want a big tentpole game to be used at Vegas. Same as you wouldn't play Souths v Easts or Brisbane v NQ or Eels v Dogs/Manly. They are big matches in Sydney. Only thing i will say that surprised me was Dogs v Dragons.
Eels also wouldn't give up the Tigers at CommBank, as it means they'd take a loss on the Dolphins game at CommBank. It's an easy swap for the club.
Well yeah, same if they played Canterbury or Penrith. Those games are reserved for Sydney and Sydney only.
