  Please don't go down the worst of the worst path.

   

  Running a "Worst 17" poll is a highly disrespectfull move that can quickly turn a supporters' community into a platform for cyber abuse. Even if the intent is "just a bit of fun," the real-world consequences for the website, the members, and the player, many of whom are still part of the rugby league community are real and long lasting.

  The NRL community has increasingly focused on the devastating impact of player and past player wellbeing. High-profile figures like Darius Boyd have warned that relentless online criticism can lead to tragic outcomes, including self-harm.

   Many players from the last 35 years still have families, children, and professional careers in the industry. Publicly "ranking" them as failures can have a lasting negative impact on their personal lives and reputations. 

   

  Defamation occurs if published material tends to "lower a person's reputation in the eyes of an ordinary, reasonable person".

  Even if a post is only up for a short time, it can lead to costly court proceedings and damages. High-profile cases, such as Ricky Stuart’s weak-gutted dog comment, highlights how quickly comments about players can lead to so many issues.  Fans who engage in this type of toxic content can often be rated as the worst supporters by others,  Instead of celebrating the club's history, the site becomes a lightning rod for negativity, which can drive away constructive members and sponsors

   

  If all that fails to convince you LB, i will just ask, how would you feel, how would your family feel, what about your children not just now but for ever, could find your real name on a students voted worst teachers online list of the last 35 years. How would that effect them or embarrasses them and how would you feel. Food for thought my friend.

      It brings Burt in fullback contention, Takaraingi or Joel Reddy in the centres, Jeff robson halfback contention, Mick Vella , Tim Smith, Alvaro,  Lane, Nathan Brown, Inu, Odenryne, David Woods, Daniel Mortimer, Jason Bell, Andrew Ryan, David Solomona, Justin Morgan, to name some possibles.

              I will preferrably do modern as that is what i know but i can try and do older. But let's be fair most of that 17 would be automatic. Sterling, Cronin, Kenny, Grothe, Price, O'Reilly, Ella etc. all are guaranteed.

    Well said Blue Eel. I think we all need to consider that we are posting on a public platform, and hence anyone can read this. Just need to be careful what we say - criticise the actions, not the person.

  Maybe go for the underrated 17 instead of a "worst of". Like we all know Hindy is the best backrower of the last 30 years, but I'd say an underrated guy for us was Chad Robinson or Ben Smith before his knees completely went.
