Nah, Blake shouldn't risk having the charge to his name, should fight it to clear his name, might cost him a week or two but hope that's not the case *wink* *wink*
MRC and the NRL are directly influenced by the media in their decisions, clubs who have ex players as advocates in the media control the narrative to suit, the dimwit fans climb aboard the bullshit and the NRL like the politicians they are go along with the outcry whichever way the wind blows.
Commentators protect their associated interests , if you don't have any influence in the media you'll get the rough end of the pineapple and here Parra are.
Unless we start blowing up publicly nothing will change, behind door conversations do nothing , Parra generate plenty of money for the NRL and it's about time they start throwing their weight around especially with club agreements up for renewal, perfect time to align with a couple of powerful clubs and exert some influence over the NRL or continue to get left behind.
Agreed, Frankie, that happens. What I find interesting about the Val Holmes case is the inconsistency. I actually think a fine is probably OK in that Moses tackle incident. But by that token, Sivo should have been fined. In both cases the initial contact is the shoulder and that causes whiplash where the head is subsequentely contacted. I would not want to argue the 'old timer' defense of 'it's a contact sport, get over it', but I think a sin bin then a fine is probably acceptable in such cases of incidental head contact?
We can then talk abstractly about differences in media talk, say the Holmes tackle vs the Sivo tackle. Or we can test the idea that the media talk varies per club? We just wait to see if the Chan. 9 and Foxtel RL shows this week are blabbing on all week about Tapau just as they were about RCG? We will see!
"Some more juniors going elsewhere ...
Fizz Latapu, Michael Fililava and Lorima Saukuru have all decided to take their talents to St George.
Are these guys a loss we can't afford or were they additional to our needs?"
"I don't believe this hearing Feb12-13 is about compensation but just whether (or not) Parra can continue to stop Lomax joining any NRL team without our permission.
If it expands to other issues it will be dragging out for a year or so."
"I think the end result will be they offering 500k and the courts dictating that that would be a fair amount. It won’t come down to the Storm losing a player of note.
If thats the case i can't see how the club could still hold onto the agreement as…"
"With a full pre - season under JR top 6. Only if Moses plays 80% of games. In my opinion Pezet will be a real asset to Mitch's game - and Iongi will only get better. For a kid so young he is elite. Future Origin player and Daily M winner... Let's go…"

Upside - Matto should be playing next week... unless he decides he doesnt want to pay
3rd offence would come into it too for Sivo.
How tf did grant not get suspended.
I wish Blake was suspended. Th judiciary have been light on their punishments for hip drops recently
What Waqa got a fine ------- no way we should appeal to the judiciary.
That was worth 6 weeks, im sure of it.

Sometimes I wonder if we sacked the wrong blake.

But we have Nathan Hindmarsh in the media. He can influence the media to assist in a fairer shake of the pineapple. Oh, wait ...
