I think you've read my take a little wrong Poppa as the 'poor us' sentiment is not what i'm saying, neither is the ' NRL bashing'.
The thought of V'landy's coming in and forcing a decision from us is wrong from most perspectives across the game and it's fans, and I have zero doubts that if we do win there will be a heavy PR battle we'll have to face.
You are right, the NRL don't own the Storm anymore, but they are 100% one of the game's top prioritise to ensure their success and performance in the battleground state, and every action by the NRL has proved this year's... we all know this.
Given all the demographics Parramatta outrank Melbourne on every level and whilst I appreciate some priorities exist in a one town/ state team I see no reason for NRL to favour Storm. It is not that Melbourne will ever be in a direct threat to AFL dominance. I am not sure what the ratings in Melb are when they play, but the Parramatta demograhic when they play is significantly greater I imagine.
PS When Melbourne broke all the rules and virtually played a season for NO POINTS they got over it, so I don't think the skin is all that "thin".

What they are made of now is irrelevant.....you could say the same about the Supreme Court.
Once the court has their say you can wind up all the "players" (pun) from Parra, Storm and the NRL, even players assn...... but if the decision comes down in our favour (which it will) and we have the sole descretionary take to decide, I would prefer to have the group of players mentioned on our side and not against us. The most obvious one being the NRL ( I would go out of the way to emphasise to them that "we us" and them won).....yes that's the royal "we" us and them!

I never have lost your drift ever Randolph, hitting the biggest guy in the room with an ashtray etc is not the smartest move......I would hire a guy that is just as big and make sure the first guy goes home with enough bruises to not go back to that room again. I don't want to prolong this as we have all said our peace but what "historical bias" exists in the courts? Jarryd Hayne took him 3 goes to get it right, we might take it to "appeal" if we lose and are not being satisfied for the reasons why....... For the same reasons the NRL maybe behind us, its a disaster for them if we lose!!! cannot emphasise that enough!
Notwithstanding all the rhetoric LB and assume you are right. Would Zac believe it is in his interests to continue to persue the case legally (without Storm's involvement) as it then gives him rights to negotiate with anyone......within the NRL, the only body he currently cannot deal with. I assume his lawyer will decide if its in his interest's to persue.
If ZAC has half a brain he would negotiate with Parra (assume they would listen to his plea) and discuss a contract to finish the year with Parra having a club option for another period. That at least would provide breathing room for all parties......I can see our fans going beserk over this but they left Simmonsson off the hook, stranger things happen?
PS Lomax would start in Reserve Grade?
What if we do not have cap space for Lomax? We have 2 spots in our top 30, $120k minimum, to spend.
So yeah we could have $600k left over but what if that all goes to Lomax and have no money to complete our top 30?
