      • There is a very good chance Melbourne just leave it, not worth their while. Yeah they have gone far enough as it is now, but  as you said they are not giving up any players, they have given up enough.

So therefore it is a simple "Well we cannot agree on a price, so we will leave the negotiations".

        • Okay, my take is that the Storm know this, and they can't have it drag out otherwise they lose out on him joining during Strom's pre-season, and a delayed court case will cost them more than he's actually worth, so they've tried to bring in the NRL to strong-arm Parra into a forced early decision hoping we won't fight.

Well we are. I think they will see what the first early result is through the Supreme Courts, and make a decision based in what direction the wind is blowing. If it's going to be a difficult battle, watch Lomax get dropped quickly and V'landy's step in to try and go around the legal procedures. His priority is the NRL, and the team's the NRL owns, not Parra.

Then you'll see bullshit PR assault on Parra celebrating Storm's approach to try and save Lomax and his career, and then shit-canning Parra the next couple of weeks to force them into a crappy deal so we can all just "move on" and not disrupt the 2026 season before it begins.

          • Your take is so wrong Clint, I am listing hereunder a direct quote from the clubs advice via Mathew Beach;s statement of Parra commencing legal action!

“Our coaching staff, players, Members and fans would not expect us to consent to the release based on what has been offered, and therefore we have no alternative but to pursue legal action to enforce the terms of the release and protect the rights of our Club.”

Now take note and I do not believe it has to be said, the NRL are powerless to do anything until after the court rules on Parra's right to enforce it. The NRL has no rights and its not in their interest's to see Lomax win those rights.

Why go on "crying poor me" you just make Parramatta seem useless and inconsequentual. There actions to date are nothing of that sort!

Just let off the NRL bashing, it might make you and others  feel better, but it does nothing to enforce our case. Just be patient and let the courts do their job and Parramatta can hold on to its dignity. Public support across the spectrum is in our favour. Don't blow it by acting like losers.

            PS

The Melbourne Storm is 100% privately owned by a consortium of Melbourne-based businessmen, having transitioned away from News Ltd ownership in 2013. The ownership group is led by Chairman Matt Tripp, alongside Bart Campbell, Gerry Ryan OAM, and Brett Ralph. The club is held under Holding M.S. Australia Pty
            • "Just let off the NRL bashing..."

HAHAHAHAHA, WHY? They have done nothing to support our cause and even attempted to mediate a rather insulting peace deal. They have shown absolutely ZERO leadership in this area.

              • Can you show where that actually happened Freshie, I think you are believing the crap you read from the AI journos that write this shit...... mediation is what any governing body would do at this point and we have no idea what terms were discussed, if any.....simple thing is that the NRL have not made one! public comment!

PS My statement about "let off the NRL bashing" is in context of the court procedure happening first. Patience and diplomacy is obviously not a strong point for the experienced judges we have on here!

                • I'm perfectly capable of analysing a situation and making up my own mind. I despise AI and have even managed to structure my own sentences in this response, without it. AMAZING! You can go on believing whatever you like I'll do exactly the same. From "10 year bans" to "no comment" says it all I think.

                  • Sorry. nothing I have said is from AI other than the Storm ownership structure.

I am questioning the facts of your comment HA HA WHY?  questioning that there are none just AI..... don't understand the 10 year bans (R360) Stuff in context by Vlandy/s) to no comment. I think Vlandy/s comment welcoming Lomax back was also in a different context to the Parra dispute. The NRL already have a copy of the Parra release contract, so again the relevance is known and assumed NRL to be outside of the dispute, hence the no comment as it would be subjudice!

                • You want us to play by Queensbury rules in a streetfight with Melb & Lomax where the NRL are lurking in our peripheral waiting to dogshot us...nuh-uh

Court is only one channel, the biggest one no doubt, but only one.  Go at 'em wide-spectrum and when we find traction, double down. Raise a target right on V'landys melon, personally. Make him feel personal heat. Leak, bleat, backchannel, potshot & Broadside.. Intimidate and excoriate. Don't blink and don't stop. Use his traits of Egoism, Bluffing and basic bullying against him.

We should throw down some big dollars and retain a  crisis PR team that knows how to fight on the front foot

            • I think you've read my take a little wrong Poppa as the 'poor us' sentiment is not what i'm saying, neither is the ' NRL bashing'.

The thought of V'landy's coming in and forcing a decision from us is wrong from most perspectives across the game and it's fans, and I have zero doubts that if we do win there will be a heavy PR battle we'll have to face.

You are right, the NRL don't own the Storm anymore, but they are 100% one of the game's top prioritise to ensure their success and performance in the battleground state, and every action by the NRL has proved this year's... we all know this.

              • Given all the demographics Parramatta outrank Melbourne on every level and whilst I appreciate some priorities exist in a one town/ state team I see no reason for NRL to favour Storm. It is not that Melbourne will ever be in a direct threat to AFL dominance. I am not sure what the ratings in Melb are when they play, but the Parramatta demograhic when they play is significantly greater I imagine.

PS When Melbourne broke all the rules and virtually played a season for NO POINTS they got over it, so I don't think the skin is all that "thin".
