  • All I know is Parra need to win this case the bigger picture needs it.You would like to think this is an open and shit case but I feel the devil is in the details and fine print.

Hope the fine print goes in our favour there's big picture ramifications if we can't get this van over the line.

  •  Is it just me or is this ABC article doing its sly best to invert the David and Goliath character of this battle? In this story, we all know the Eels are David and the Storm are Goliath. The Storm have been in the finals for all but about 2-3 times this century, including playing the last two GF's. When caught salary cap cheating they got a tap on the little finger and were permitted to keep advertising their ill-gotten gains. Meanwhile V'Landys is in in the background of the Lomnax case whining (for the Storm) about 'oh let's keep Zac the Contract Bailer' in the game".

But how does the ABC story represent the situation? Let's unpack!

    1) The "four-time NRL premiers" Parramatta Eels vs "rivals Melbourne Storm"? As if the Eels are the NRL heavy-weight here?

    2) The Lomax legal team is a subtle victim of a "rush to prepare"? As if it's the Eels rushing Lomax/Storm rather than the Eels should have no need to go to Court if Lomax abided by the contract he signed?

    3) Parramatta also has a "high profile barrister" and is represented by "top brass at the [Eels] club"? As if it's the Eels with a silver spoon in their mouth? Despite the Storm having V'Landys in their back pocket? We recall the ARL doing all they could to shackle the Eels in signing Falou?

    4) And apparently the Eels want to be "properly compensated" for letting Lomax sign with another NRL team? This frames the issue how the Storm want to frame the issue, of a purely financial transaction (their $200k offrer). But the Eels have framed it as "appropriate value", specifying that means the Eels want to gain a player of equal standing.

Anyone who thinks this story from the ABC is not the product of a "backgrounding" operation from Storm and NRL interests is dreaming.

    • Nicely unpacked Daz. They are throwing punches at us from behind a curtain. Burn the curtain

It's subtle and boxing clever.  They are losing the PR war and they have no real leg to stand on, no way to right the ship so they softly try to invert the narrative. Then they will ramp it up.

Our narrative is powerful and engaging so we need to make it heard

    • Well done Daz, those without media training wouldn't pick up on the subtle jabs here.

    • I noticed these subtleties as well DAZ but what is the pupose of this article except as a click bait, it tells nothing really? is trying to sway public opinion, which is overwhlemingly in our favour? or trying to influence the decision of the supreme court - a highly unlikely prospect.

      Onward & Upward!

      • The purpose of the article was to be an article. Content baby, yeah. It is adding a slant to an article that was going to run anyways. It is not a straight up placed hit-piece

"The usual suspects. They need to get a hobby.
I may be going crazy as I can't see any link to vote in that email. I see 2 links - AGM page, Pitt-town Amalgamation page."
