            • The tissues came out when we signed Ryles. But it wasn't due to tears.  Those tissues ended up so rock hard you could chock the wheel of a car on a downhill slope with them.

  •  he absolutely grilled Peter O’Sullivan in the article - NRL 2026: Bradman Best fires parting shot at former Newcastle Knigh...

    • Pretty funny O'Sullivan paid Brown all that money then left Newcastle with the cap mess 😂 heaps of young players to try keep and not much room left

  • He's not worth a million per season but if that's what it will take to get him, then so be it.

Personally, I would rather throw whatever it takes to get Farnsworth to Parra.

  • What's there cap looking like in the next few years and how much is the cap going up with the new TV deal.

They say Newcastle are in a cap mess but from what I'm seeing there still in the market for a middle also. There one year out of a spoon to a GF and the idea much like we had in 2022-23 you can't keep everyone I mean that's the choice they have to make.

Cap mess is relative you can have all the cap you like much like us and pay for dogshit players there is that.PoS fark we've got MoN and I wonder if both hit the open market as recruitment managers who gets snapped up first.

    • Cap going up is fine but most of these guys have rachet clauses that rise with the cap. He basically gave brown 1.4 million then also signed Sandon Smith for 500k who played better then brown. Just bad management from O'Sullivan.

      • Blows my mind how you can consider a team going from wooden spoon to the grand final in the space of a single season to be bad cap management.

If you want to rocket up the ladder you need to blow your budget, yes it makes future years harder but you bank on the fact that people will come for unders to play for a successful club with the chance to get a premiership.

It's a tried and tested method and POS executed it perfectly with the Knights.

It's not the only strategy, if you've spent over a decade building an incredible pathways pool then you can get sustained success like Penrith. If you have mates in high places you can just buy sustained success like the Roosters. But for most clubs who don't have a secret weapon you need to aim for a premiership window and cop the hangover that will come after it.
