The Psycological meaning of an NYC Grand Final Win

I'm just wondering how much a NYC grand final win will affect players psychology.

I remember being a kid and losing grand finals. I think that it is something that can really stay with you.

I get the feeling that if the under 20's can win a title it could really make a difference not only to the young players psychology but the club as a whole.

I think in order for a team to win they need to feel like they are winners.

I know that might sound a bit backwards but I think deep down in a persons Psyche, they know if they are a winner or a contender.

I hope the boys can get a win and get that winning attitude back at Parra.

Because one thing I think our club has lacked is the belief that we are capable of total victory.

Go Boys!! Bring back that Loving Feeling because it's been gone gone gone.

  • They are a good team & should beat the Warriors this week. Dropped a lot of ball last week & still beat a good Broncos side. Need to fix up that aspect of their game & hopefully will win a grand final. This will also help the players when promoted to fg throughout next year.

  • It's always good to win junior premierships. I've said that building these players towards first grade is the main goal but I think this year we've got a strong playing group and the good thing about this team is that most of the god players are still only 18-19 so they've got another year or two to be spent in the NYC, although I think that throughout the year we'll see them given a go at NSW cup. Pete Nolan had a good set-up and now we just need to keep these structures in place and just build on them with good junior recruitment and retention which Anthony Field has already kept going with the junior signings of Jesse Cronin, and Reimis Smith. Hopefully with Peter Sharp's good connections we can continue to bring in the best junior talent that we think will make first grade.

So yeah it will do them good in the short-term and their playing confidence. Playing in a good team also means you're more likely to be picked in representative teams and I can see a few of these boys being picked for either the Junior Kangaroos squad or the Junior Kiwis squad.

    • I admire Anthony Field. How he juggles his job at Parra with his commitments as the Blue Wiggle never ceases to amaze....
