Should we not sign a expierenced halfback
How i rank them
01. Tom Humble:
Probably entitled to the first shot at halback but is up to Kearney and who impresses. I thought that he was more of a five eighth but give the chance probably could fit into the halback role very nicely. A very good defender for a back has a good technique and brings down the hardest on runners. I havent seen enough of his kicking game to comment on that but does have a good running game and a reasonably good pass.
02. Brad Murray:
I have heard nothing but good news on this site about Brad Murray i have seen some of his games and he does have a good short and long kicking game and a very nice pass he has what all great halbacks have and thats the vision he spot things that other halfbacks cant also a handy goalkicker that could usefull in the future. But maybe to earlier to bring him in to first grade could crush his carrer.
03. TK Amosa:
Possibly one parras most exciting young juniors he has alot of flair about his game and reminds me a bit of Benji Marshall. Probably one of parras best performers in the U20S this year in a often beaten side. Amosa is what i would call a genuine number 7 looks like its his natural position from what i have seen of him he has a pin point short kicking game and can hit a 40/20 now and then we missed someone who could ghet 40/20 this year.
04. Cameron Breust:
This kid is talent has made various junior rep sides i havent seen all to much on him but i have heard good news about him on this site and in newspaper sources. I guess you wouldnt have made those rep sides if you had nothing from what i heard he has alot of confindence and thats a valuable thing in todays game.
The others:
Jason Wehbe
Marmin Barba
If we dont sign a well known halfback in 2011 its not the end of the world it could be a bonus we have all this money in the bank for 2011 and we might just might have a shot at getting Quade Cooper over hear in 2012 remember he only signed a one year deal with the ARU suggesting he has ambitions of playing NRL in 2012.
And if we dont get Quade Cooper there is allways NRL options in 2011 such as:
Luke Walsh
Tim Moltzen
Kieran Foran

We signed him because the talent and potential was there in leaps and bounds.
He'll be our NYC halfback though, at least for 2011, but there's no doubt that he'll get a crack to show what he can do at some stage.
The only two options from your last point that I'd consider would be Mullen and Moltzen.
He has a deft kicking game, and he takes the line on a fair bit.
I haven't seen a lot of him myself, but he's got a proven track record, and is a valuable addition to our squad now and for the future.
Then again so was Sterlo when he was "propelled" into 1st grade.
I do not like to see young guys pushed into the big time too early - very few survive
Eg. Peter Wallace - "brilliant" young player at the Panthers- went to be Lockyers offsider - pushed into SOO too early and really hasn't done anything spectacular since. Plays a solid game and thats about it.
Humble should be given a shot at 5/8 - don't know about him at 7 tho.
BTW - Cooper Cronk in last nights 4 nations was VERY dominant imo - - Can't we ressurect rumours about him?
Connection with SK - played 4 nations - announcement this week. Got a good sound to it don't you think?
Has anybody heard of Sean McGuinness? He was the Captain and half-back of the 2009 Harold Matthews team that came runner's up. He was also Jason Wehbe's half-back for Hills Sports High which won the Arrive Alive Cup this year. Another home grown junior. A state athlete in his younger years this young talent has skill, speed, toughness and a superb kicking game. His ball-playing skills show a lot of promise however he is still developing. Has an enormous boot on his and tackles as well as any forward. Is still eligible to play SG Ball this year however has been called into the 20s squad. Humble, well spoken and polite off the field.
Jason Seage would be the starting half-back in the 20s this year however he signed with the Australian Rugby Union 7s squad. He was Wehbe's halves partner all through the junior's and they had an exciting intuition into one another's games. However Parramatta didn't show this exciting home grown talent enough care/respect and those Rah Rah bastards swarmed on him.. Can play fullback too at a pinch and is a must to get back within the blue and gold ranks. Cheeky, fast and one hell of a talent..
