  • Is this sorta reliable rumour?

I do prefer having a straightforward service dummy half for our team, but I think Smith can be decent at that.

If we get a favourable contract a la Addo Carr, then I am all for it.

I actually won't mind him. I think getting him and even releasing Lussick (but he can stay) would be great. Especially on a two year deal.

Him and Hands can rotate in game and Smith can cover lock and Hands can cover halves too.

    • Just remembered he is injured for a half the season. Yeah, na.

  • So...this  means we were naughty?

  • The longer Parra wait to sign him the less they have to pay, and considering he ain't back from injury till mid season I'll be waiting as long as possible to sign him.

    • Won't be back until  R17.  Could be a bs rumour.  The only way i can see this happening is if we get him virtually for free for 2025 then sign him for 26.

      • 17? I heard Round 10 the earliest.

        • It's round 17 at the earliest.  Smith said it himself

          • All good, just going off what i heard from other outlets a few months ago.

      • I can see it happening if come mid year we are sort of in a rut but close to semis, Ryles looks to him as a spark. By then we would get him for peanuts practically. Nobody will touch Smith til the round he is back anyway, but then Roosters would have paid a majority of his 2025 salary.

    • Yep ACL and MCL injuries

"Yes, kicking behind the line is something missing for us that our 6 and 1 should provide. Iongi has developed it and we scored off his kicks against Brisbane I think. Really need him back."

Poupou Escobar replied to Angry Eel's discussion Hypothetical Question
"Foran played 162 NRL games AFTER HE LEFT THE EELS. Add that to the 147 he played in his first stint at Manly and the 9 games he played for us, Foran played over 300 NRL games. Hardly a player with "problems". Most likely is that he got the fuck out…"

Hell On Eels replied to Hell On Eels's discussion V'landyball: The Momentum Wars
"Yehez, yep, you'd probably rather defend on the line with 13-men than further up-field where full-backs and wingers drop back for the kick; almost a 10-man line.
That's also a reason we probably need to be better at scoring tries off kicks behind…"
