The longer Parra wait to sign him the less they have to pay, and considering he ain't back from injury till mid season I'll be waiting as long as possible to sign him.
Won't be back until R17. Could be a bs rumour. The only way i can see this happening is if we get him virtually for free for 2025 then sign him for 26.

It's round 17 at the earliest. Smith said it himself

I can see it happening if come mid year we are sort of in a rut but close to semis, Ryles looks to him as a spark. By then we would get him for peanuts practically. Nobody will touch Smith til the round he is back anyway, but then Roosters would have paid a majority of his 2025 salary.
"Yes but why do we need them now.
As soon as the decision to release Lomax was agreed to that had to be the #1 decision back then.
I mean we left the door open for DB to go also and we still don't have an answer at 6 this is how this club moves at…"
"Cleary is superior to every half in the comp just saying.
What is funny is how all our fans were on there knees praising the coach for style of play and yet now we are back to the bash athon and aren't 1 built to play that way 2 are getting…"
"You know why the ruck was slow because of our lack of physicality in the middle of the park.If we ran harder like they were there getting the accendency and the officials can see that. This is the issue when your built for finesse and you play sides…"
"Our errors and when we made them was the reason we lost. When you have a ref that loves a set restart (some random for both sides) you are always going to fatigue when you hand over possession so easily."

Is this sorta reliable rumour?
I do prefer having a straightforward service dummy half for our team, but I think Smith can be decent at that.
If we get a favourable contract a la Addo Carr, then I am all for it.
I actually won't mind him. I think getting him and even releasing Lussick (but he can stay) would be great. Especially on a two year deal.
Him and Hands can rotate in game and Smith can cover lock and Hands can cover halves too.
Just remembered he is injured for a half the season. Yeah, na.
So...this means we were naughty?

17? I heard Round 10 the earliest.
