How bad is he, I thought he was playing good in a bad team but I'm starting to think the tigers are just that bad he looked ok, The Galvin effect is in full swing you can tell the players and coach are sick of answering questions they don't look happy as a team anymore they look like a team that are left in the dark about who is playing where each week I've always thought he is going to regret this decision he will start hating his footy again they are playing worse with him coming on looking like a deer in headlights hopefully gus has finally seen him.

Couldn't agree more. It's like the Footy Gods have intervened. The "natural" decision was for Galvin to return to the Eels. No pressure, slips into 5/8 and time to build his game and help the Parramatta revival. Instead he drank Gus's Kool Aid and made the "unnatural" decision to go to Canterbury. He looks and moves 100% like Jake Arthur. The more Galvin got involved the worse Canterbury went. From 18-0 up to being run down, just like the reverse of that dreadful Paul Carige semi final. Galvin - the Paul Carige of Canterbury. What a monumental mistake he has made. Who advised him that Canterbury was the best destination? Is he simply a "Blazer/Trophy Hunter"?
Galvin, you needed to follow the quote by Friedrich von Schiller: "Keep true to the dreams of your youth". You could of lead the team you supported back to Premiership glory but chose the short cut to "potential" sucess.

What I think you have to take into account is the Dogs are far from the finished product.
Galvin was absolute the right move to make for them absolutely.
They may not be championship material now but they are setup for long term success not instant gratification win now at all costs.
There still running top 4 and are still a shot at the premiership after a 3 yr rebuild across the board.This is where we are hoping to be in the given timeframe also are we good enough to join the discussion we shall see.
Agree completely Coryn that the Dogs aren't the finished product, but the fans don't see that. They see their ladder leading side lose two weeks in a row coinciding when Galvin joins.
The problem with being top of the ladder is that it comes with expectations. Had Galvin joined the Dogs a year and a half ago...he would have been fine.
Now? The expectation is for him to at least maintain their current position and trajectory. Is that an unfair expectation? Yes. But it is what it is.
He chose to go to a club who were sitting at an unsustainable peak. There was only one way to go. And unfortunately for him every single slip from that peak is going to be blamed on the only thing that changed since they got there (the addition of Galvin). And he will now also be blamed for losing Sexton and Mahoney.
It would have been a much safer gamble Galvin to come to the Eels. But he's chosen the all or nothing play. Now he's got to develop his game and mature as a youngster in the most visible role on the field with a team whos fans now expect top of the table success.
If the Dogs get a premiership in the next few years, all will be forgiven. But in literally ANY other outcome - Galvins career suffers.
I hope the kid can keep his confidence and bravado, because it's going to be severely tested. Just like Dylan Brown next year.
There's brave, and then there's stupid. History will decide which one Galvin and Brown are.
1. Galvin is a good player and has the talent to be great
2. But there are plenty of youngsters who have that and end up not making it
3. One of the reasons for not making it is trying to be the main man too early and believing your own hype
He can't escape the pressure. He chose the pressure.
