How bad is he, I thought he was playing good in a bad team but I'm starting to think the tigers are just that bad he looked ok, The Galvin effect is in full swing you can tell the players and coach are sick of answering questions they don't look happy as a team anymore they look like a team that are left in the dark about who is playing where each week I've always thought he is going to regret this decision he will start hating his footy again they are playing worse with him coming on looking like a deer in headlights hopefully gus has finally seen him.

Honestly it was like watching a slow train wreck tonight.
He overplayed his hand and pushed stupid unnecessary passes. The kid is talented but has had a definite negative effect on this dogs team's balance and they have lost confidence in their attack.
Love to say it but they looked better with Sexton & Burton in the halves
Looks like we dodged a massive bullet with him.
Absolutely look better with sexton and burton, even Greg Alexander made reference come the end of the year most likely wouldn't be in his pick in the top 17 funny thing is even next year the blokes not a half back this is brilliant to watch.. And I know the doggy fans come in here woof woof!
In your opinion is he fast and a gun?
Who??
Burton, Sexton or Galvin?
None are.
Burton is a good player!
Fast and a gun he asked.
I said no to those but he is a still a good player.
We didn't dodge a bullet at all, we missed out on a talent that made the wrong decision to go to a team that didn't suit his learning curve.
Galvin has the talent to be a top level half, 6 and 7, what he doesn't have at the bulldogs is the time to learn how to play within himself to suit the teams needs in particularly situations.
It was ok for the tigers to allow him to go out there and make mistakes, learning on the run, as they were trying to climb off the bottom not compete for a premiership.
The ideal landing spot for Galvin was the eels. He wouldn't be the main playmaker, he would be the 2nd fiddle and his touches would have been limited to maybe once every set. He would have had a top level 7 to learn off in moses, he doesn't have that at the dogs and didn't have it at the tigers.
Remember moses transitioned from a 6 to a 7 and it took him many years to get to a top level because like Galvin he didn't have a top level 7 to learn from.
Galvin and his manager could very well regret the decision to go to the dogs over the eels, this could set his development back many years or even totally derail his career.
Wait until the dogs fans turn on him, and they will if they continue to lose.
Spot on HKF. Gus and co really put the spin on thick for Galvin to get him to change his mind and go with the Dogs, but the pressure differential between the two clubs is HUGE.
The Dogs are on top with only one way to go (down). The Eels are in a rebuild with one of the leagues best halves to learn from.
He would have had time for his talent to develop at the Eels. At the Dogs if he doesn't bring them a premiership this year (which he won't) then he'll be used as a scapegoat given they were on top when he arrived.
He'll then have to back it up next year with expectations sky high.
Moving up the ladder is a heck of a lot easier than staying up the top consistently. Galvin has to become a superstar overnight otherwise I think there's a good chance he's discarded before his contract is out.
Yes captain, I didn't even touch on the levels of expectation and pressure at the dogs compared to if he went to the eels, as you have pointed out, it's enormous.
Never said he didn't have talent I said we dodged a bullet. Early opinions are that he didn't make the right decision and he has shown that he doesn't have the character that we need in our side.
I mean, if this is the kind of talent who can't see that his game wasn't ready to be dominant half at his age, then that's on him, his dad and Isaac - so yes IMO we did dodge a bullet with Galvin.
