        • This was Andrew Hill's only 1st grade game, still aged only 16, maybe it's because he came on from the bench that Luke Burt is credited as Parra's youngest debutant age 17.

    • I remember that day Jac; listening on the radio; gee it was sad and horrendous. But lets not forget Canberra had a decent side in the ealry 90s and they even went over the cap!!

  • How did Tago only get one week and Katoa out for 8 weeks ??

  • Raiders are our bogey team, especially in Canberra. How many cricket scores have we seen over the last 30 odd years? Something about the bus ride down there maybe or that super fucking cold weather. They will tear us a new arsehole this weekend, it will be hard to watch. But I guess this gives the young guys a good look at what you can aspire to as a team down the track.

Have we ever won in Canberra?

  • I don't think we know what is happening in the background with Dylan. His body language says a lot. He appears to not be the same as he was under BA. ( Still unachieved potential?)He probably would have been a better player if he started his Career in the Storm or Panthers system .

    • I think his form has just echoed the teams form.

The team as a whole has underperformed for coming on 3 seasons now for one reason or another. But you are correct his body language is one whose mind is somewhere else.

We want these halves to perform but I suggest a lot of things have to function around them for this to happen.Even Mitchell Moses whose in career best form hasn't been able to replicate it for Parra consistently. So the lesson here is under the surface the guys around these higher profile guys need to perform also consistently.Lift the floor not the ceiling.

The discussion is the same one around Cleary at SoO level.Everyone calling him this and that.NRL is a combat sport those who own the middle win the games for the most part. How many times have we seen our side dominate the middle 1/3 in attack and defense this is where the games are won for the most part everything else is window dressing.

      • Coryn how does anyone recover being valued as the highest earner in the game and feeling humiliated in the situation he is currently in..Is that also a statement about a side in Ryles we don't know about? I know you can't answer that but maybe something to think about. Not blaming anyone but not sure Dylan will be able to recover from that mental barrier.

        • Again Tad I think he'll be alright 14 million potential reasons why.

Even if everything goes to crap for him he's secured his future he can disappear into the abyss and not worry about it.I don't think DB worries to much what others think he controls what he can control and in the long run he's won he's hit the lottery.

Tad would you feel humiliated if you won the lottery I know I wouldn't and I could care less what others think about by doing so.That's how I'd approach this situation.

PS he won't be the highest paid player for long some other player will get some earth shattering deal that will beat DBs you can guarantee that.

          • I admire your attitude Coryn. One thing I often look at is stress levels and how people manage that.( Lots of personal experience). I liked the way Ryles handled frustrationse in his viewers box earlier in the season. His emotions were more composed which I liked. I have noticed he has become a little more like Bellamy in his frustrations. Bellamy still comes up with results though. I think the way coaching staff handle stress is a big deal in coaching. It gives players a instinctual model to follow on field which filters through the team. How important is stress management with task composure? Lots of different ways people manage that side of coping.Drugs, Alcohol, anger release, scapegoating and blame, counselling, mental relaxation and task focusing. From your player experience does any of this stuff resonate with you?

            • As a player and in life I don't try to overthink or over complicate situations.

We we're taught this from a coach when I had when I was a teen. Not a footy coach I may add either.

When under duress I want bullet points to think about in a given situation key points so I could still act quickly under pressure with regards to decision making. To much to think about hindered the process.

I to notice the frustration starting to appear with JR also.He was very composed earlier in the season but I think he realises now and is showing that frustration more and more.

He doesn't deserve a potential spoon first time out the teams better than that but reality is starting to sink in here and I think he realises how actually far he has to go.Right now all his apples are on the Moses return if that doesn't work out I fear the worst for the team.
