Does this impact on our ideas relative to recruitment?Ideally, we need big boppers that can play big minutes. Not too many fall into this category though. Additionally, we have seen (not surprisingly) that increased fitness levels can strip bulk (Alvaro as an example) from players. This could be a significant change if it were to happen.

  • Go out and buy big props, than this happens. Lol
  • I'd drop 2 interchanges a year for the next two years bring it down to 4 bring fatigue back into the game.

    • As long as the refs don't fuck up or cheat and one side gets heavily penalised, then the fatigue factor will operate on an equal playing field. If we go by what the refs have been dishing up for some years now, then it will be very easy for NRL conspirators to determine, thanks to the fatigue factor, which team wins or loses, anytime, anywhere.

  • For it to impact our ideas, we would have to actually have some recruitment ideas or a plan in the first place... and that's questionable...

That said - love to see only 4 interchanges and fix the HIA rort.

  • Bring down interchange and add an 18th man who only come in if a player leaves the game due to injury/hia

    • I like the idea of an 18th man. Like the HIA stuff though - potentially open to being rotted.

      Warrant serious consideration
      • Easy fix. If you miss rest of game due to hia, you automatically miss the next match

  • That would still leave room for someone like Paulo to come on for short stints and have others such as Alvaro who can play longer stints. Mind you, there would be incentive for middle forwards to get fit. A big bloke who can play 80min would be invaluable.

I think Parra should be in the box seat here and I suspect that they were expecting this to happen a little sooner, hence the smaller, fitter forward pack.

    • I like the optimistic sentiment here - we can only hope for a favourable impact here.
  • You'd have to factor it in. It will result in fewer big men who don't have a motor-good!

The sooner they reduce the better. We might start seeing some footy.
