Absolutely agree. You can only pass to your winger if there is time. He had time to give it to JAC in the first try. Russell has been one of our best players for the last month. But people keep piling it on for some vicarious reason. Too many mistakes and Sean did not make one of them.
I think our forward pack is building but Ryles seems to want them to ball play a lot before the line, causing errors and not really building momentum. Think they are still trying to find the right balance but mostly happy with our pack
I'd say the main take away is that we have improved dramatically since the start of the season. Melbourne are sitting 3rd and have the best f/a in the comp by far.
We took it to them physically. Yes they got a few quick play the balls and won the ruck but we scrambled well. 2 pin point kicks led to tries. Almost nothing you can do to stop that apart from greater kick pressure.
Our errors let us down big time but to say we are still a long way off being a good side is unfair. Melbourne are one of the favourites for the Premiership.
Hopgood needs to sort it out quick smart. It was actually our senior players in Hopgood and Paulo who let us down. Not so much the rookies.
Couldn't agree more, honestly I reckon just drop hopgood to reserve grade next week. Give him a chance to get his confidence back cause he looks like he has 0 right now .
You don't get confidence back by being dropped Roy. Understand physcology doesn't work that way. Either you are good enough or not. Hopgood's defence is elite and its just a case of him co-ordinating his skills. I have feeling that his back injury has some effect on his motor skills. Time will see!
Bit like smacking a child for doing something wrong whilst he is learning. The child response is anger, resentment, etc and distracts learning. Give him a hug and teach him at a level appropriate for his development and he will be hungry to take the next step. Focus becomes on taking in new conquests.
"It seems karma eventually does come for POS NRL journos who delight in slagging off certain clubs and players. Good stuff. 0.2 blood alcohol. He should do some jail for that. "

5 rounds ago Hobgood needed to bite down on a cake of soap...
Hobgood now needs a good whack with a wooden spoon or belt...
