              • This, EA. Well laid out.

It's pretty unheard of to have so many moving parts in one season?

Yet, the Eels took it to the 2nd place Storm for 80minutes & lost by 6, after beating the Broncos in Brisbane.

We unfortunately just have to give it time with Ryles to see what he can do but as MeelK said, the fact we are so disappointed at losing to the 2nd place Storm by 6, shows how far this team has come.

        • Great post NOS. Hope you are going well.

          • Going better now I have seen your name pop up, MeelK.

Hope you too are well my friend.

            • I'm going well NOS, thanks.

I'm happy with the progression of our team. It was a strange feeling after lasts night's game in that I was quite annoyed we didn't win it, which is telling in how far we've come, because it wasn't that long ago we would have just been happy to not lose that game by 40.

    • Well the coach and Moses disagree with your analysis and said as much in the presser.

They were both disappointed and both believed that they should have won and they expected to win that game in the situation we were in.

They are in the business of winning not simply competing and that fills me optimism.

      • Frank, it sure beats the shit out of the old "we didn't chase the collision" dribble we used to get in a press conference after a loss.

    • Well put mate! A lot of negativity for a young progressing team. These players are on the up.

  • I thought we did pretty well really. Considering the number of errors we made in their 20m and massive defence on our tryline, we held a top 2 team to right near the end of the game. We could have eon that game, and that knowledge will be a great confidence boost. This team is heading in the right direction. It was like watching a completely different team vs last year.

  • Take aways from today.

Paulo is well past his best form, Hopgood has lost his best form and Russell's best form is nowhere near good enough.

Hawkins is a good fill in halfback but isn't a 5/8 by any stretch of the imagination.

Penisini runs hard but is poor in defence and offers little in attack.

Lomax has lost his goal kicking abilities and was generally poor on the field.

I'm not sold on TDS and think, at this stage, Smith is a far better hooker.

I know Brown is leaving but surely he would've been a better option at 6 than Hawkins. Hawkins won't be our starting 6 next year either so it makes no sense playing him over Brown.
