Defensively we conceeded to 2 aerial kicks on the 5th tackle so big improvement there.
In attack, too many drop balls obviously. Hopgood is purely a prop now. NO BALL PLAYING. Hawkins offers no threat as a 6. Williams attacking threat on an edge is nullified when Hawkins is the one feeding him balls. But Williams cant be with Moses as he helps Hawkins out defensively. We used barely any play to involve Joash acceleration and footwork.
Doubt Iongi is back. The other 3 options really is to:
- play Volkman at 6
- play Papalii at 6 since they want to do that next year. Put Lomax to fullback and Simmo to wing. Or Twiddle to fullback cause good chance is the back up fullback next year if Papalii is the 6. Twiddle might not be ready but hey "the future is now."
He'll probably just persist with Hawkins if Iongi isnt back, like other then the team wide errors in this game was fairly happy with effort. Should take it to the cowboys next week
I tell you what tho. Joash looked at his most dangerous when he linked in the middle of the field in shape from one side to another. His speed to get across the ground quickly created space on the outside. So good hope for when he is at 6 next year even though I think that experiment will fail. Surely an inside outside pass for Joash with his accleration would have bene on tonight.
He's doing a pretty good job considering the level of teams he's faced in his two weeks at fullback. Iongi size just makes him a better option but I want to see more of Joash at the 6 it might end up being something
"It seems karma eventually does come for POS NRL journos who delight in slagging off certain clubs and players. Good stuff. 0.2 blood alcohol. He should do some jail for that. "

Wonder if they go back to Dylan brown at 6? Although it's a long turn around to our next game so Iongi might even be back for that game. Next Sunday

I agree we should fit him in much better than we are doing. He reminds me of a Reece Walsh type player however with a much more humble nature
Joash looked really good in that link roll, looked dangerous every time. The defence straight away were on the back foot when he had it.
I recon even put DB at 1 and Papalii at 6
Why? There is no point. As Ryles said the future is now.
