- After the first minute of the game I immediately knew that no matter how good we try to play that we would not win the game. The corruption was pretty clear. But wow we played awful.
- The sin bin was obviously a horrible decison by the ref
- The captain challenge was another horrible decison by the ref
- The number of 6 agains on 4th and 5th tackle just because Grant asked the ref for it was BS.
- Iongi getting a high tackle and than a crusher but not getting a penalty for it. Than being sent for the HIA was BS too.
- We lost control of the ruck because we would get pinged for a 6 again the moment we held on for a second. What were the eels meant to do. Two different games were beign reffed. Storm are the one team you CANNOT give loads of possession and a quick ruck too. We have zero match fitness since round 1, so that spine, our errors and refs but it impossible to defend under fatigue. We played 60min with 12 men too.
- Now enough complaining about the ref.
- Kelly and Penisni still cant defend 1 on 1 tackles consistently.
- Pezet is overrated. He is not a 6 and looked good at Storm in theri system. He is slow and a poor defender.
- Da Silva is a reserve grader. 1 year into a 4 year contract and I may have already given up on him. His service is putrid. He cannot control a ruck even though he didnt miss a tackle. His decison making is poor.
- Smith had the worst game of his career. Errors, missed tackle, etc. Really hope this was a one off
- Our bench rotation was completely fucked up because of the Iongi HIA. Our bench was a fullback (Papalii), hooker (TDS) and 2 small forward in Doorey and Walker. They had no chance in competing with Storms elite spine and big forward pack once they got a roll on (plus refs help).
No one is saying we played a great game or were not poor with our handing. We hurt oursleves for sure. But apply all the context. Refs fucking over from the start. The bench we had to use cause of the HIA BS. The countless 6 agains. Try to control the ruck and get pinged. Versing the best spine in the comp with all of that is impossible even if we completed well the refs wouldnt let us win I am certain of it.

We committed the cardinal sin or making far to many errors and not completing sets the rest is sermantics.If we took the footage of us getting robbed with by 6 agains we get laughed out of the room I bet you Melbourne could do the same.
Both coaches mentioned the lack of completion by us and we paid the price the errors gave the Storm spine all the advantage they needed.We committed footy sucide in what was already a tough venue and opponent and made there job easy,
The concerning part for me is JR mentioning he has to look at the preparation of the team and he had a dig at players also have to take individual responsibility.The other thing I took out of this is our system isn't entrenched and our players aren't interchangeable and can just slot in a do a job for us.Some of the mistakes made tonight by us were just inexcusable and to wait all off season and a team supposedly on the rise puts that on the table is just pathetic.I was expecting competitive at least and we rolled out a slaughter.These guys are Jeykl and Hyde anyone out there confident against the Broncs away if we see any inkling of this dog shit we'll see back to back 50 point games if we aren't careful and even worse Melbourne weren't even at full strength.
The Eels beat themselves with ill discipline. Not a great start but they have an entire season to fix it and hoepfully they get it sorted quickly.
The whole team was terrible, the attitude, the effort, everything was shocking!!
We have had the whole preseason to get this right and we look a bunch of clowns!!

I thought Ryles made some really poor selections too. Moving Russell from centre was poor. He's been a good defensive link at centre and played both trials alongside Pezet there. Samrani should of been on the wing, his carries alone are worth picking him for plus he is a competitor. Guymer also gets a spot on the bench ahead of Doorey. The refs were dreadful but we still got beat by 50. A side with Samrani and Guymer in it doesn't get beat by 50 in my opinion
We had the chance to pick up Vaalapu and Pahulu in the Storm shot with Lomax and dish off Matterson... they are 2 hard ass YOUNG nrl experienced forwards, bet Eels Mngt are wishing they had now! Hopgood & de Belin would be in Reggie's

As soon as Hopgood sent for 10 we were done, Iongi getting' hit was disgraceful , Kelly ball going backwards and the quickest call from Bunker, again disgraceful.

I truly believe our Halves were in shambles, Moses or Pezet non existent in our kicking game. When we were getting hammered by Grant should have kicked early to tire their forwards to swing our momentum back. But knowing the ref probably 7 set restarts.
That ref is a blight on the game. He shouldn't be reffing NRL games. If we have to resort to that calibre of incompetence, the game is in serious trouble
I honestly feel like the boys gave up after the calls kept going Melbournes way. We should investigate plenty of things, especially their six agains and head high contact. Get ready for Brisbane not going to be an easy watch.
We cannot solely blame refs, it lets the players off the hook for accountability. Bad calls yeah but also no excuse for conceading 50.
The nrl are more corrupted than what I thought they were.
Our middles are marshmallows with pea hearts 💕. Doorey was the only one that bent the line. Hoppy defended well but gave away a silly penalty.
