Tago 1 game suspension for textbook hip drop.

Can really see the difference in rulings for teams that nrl want to be at the top and teams they want in the cellar. As Shane Richardson said a definite bias to teams higher up the ladder. See it alot in the other games as well with majority of the 50/50 calls going the way of the team in the top 8. Now imagine if one of our players hit Cleary with a similar tackle they'd be looking at 4-5 weeks for sure

        • He sort of got up stretched it out and kept playing, he should have just stayed down. Lesson learned lol

  • One week disgusting! What about the ref and bunker ref!? Shouldn't they be dropped for missing such a blatant obvious dangerous play?? Seriously disgusting handling of this.

    • Exactly Mace! They are on $300k a year why not fine them for blatant errors. In this example it's plausible the referee missed it but what excuse is there for the bunker referee-Grant Atkins. Kitone was clearly in distress after that tackle and struggled to play the ball-plenty of time to review but not even a penalty.
Its clear that Ivan Cleary has managed to maintain a relationship with the referees long after the period of time he was referees boss.
Yesterday JAC got pinged for not using his foot to play the ball. You could go through and find 20+ examples in a game where a player does that-Eisenhuth's example in the play the ball before their 2nd try was far more blatant.
To add salt to the wounds, the player who scored Penriths 3rd try  (Tago) was the same player who did the hip drop on Kautoga. Admittedly our defence was disgraceful but he should have been in the sun bin as a minimum

  • Why is anyone surprised? It's blatant what's going on, it all there to see. Yes we made mistakes with ball and which these no calls compounded the situation but fuck me someone is on the take.

    • Have to agree and it's so obvious

    • The nrl is rigged. It's all about betting now.

  • Let's see whether JR will say something about that during his presser this week.
I'm sensing he's starting to get annoyed by a few things; so maybe this will bring out some of his bad/angry side.

  • It will continue this way until coaches, CEO's, the front office start to stand up and speak out about this blatant corruption and while they're at speak up about the appalling referee /bunker calls going against Parra and why Atkins is continually given Eels games when he clearly goes against them every time.

  • The NRL app even states Tago is an Eels player. They must have thought he played for us so that's why they've charged him.

    • That's why he got a week.

"Ok so what club? Parra? Ok one week, now what is the charge?"

"Randy,  An interesting one.
I suppose coaches trust certain players or believe they're the best fit for the team, even if club form or a high minute count aren't there.
I'd choose you for x-factor even if you only had 5 minutes of form."

"Hoe, I dislike the idea that a player can be selected for Aust with only 480 club minutes on show...and not all of them good. How can he have form without playing?
Perhaps a rule that said 10 nrl games to be eligible for Aust would help everyone"
