"I don't like the fact that we keep talking about the 'golden' period of the 1980s, it's a millstone around our neck that we need to get rid of. I can understand it, but we need our own golden days."
Parramatta Eels legend Peter Sterling is back with more insights into what makes a great NRL club, and where he sees the Blue and Gold army is doing things right.
Sterlo talks about building pride in the jumper, playing for your mates and how our team should all have a burning desire to be on the Hall of Fame - all the things the Eels are building towards.

Great interview - shame the club and players aren't listening.
Seeing Sterlo wearing the BnG again and doing this interview tells me their may be light at the end of the tunnel.
Just hope it ain't an oncoming train.
col,did ray price not tell the site these words a few years ago, well it fell on deaf ears I agree in this one
Great advice! from a great player. Good to see Sterling wearing the blue and gold shirt! Sounds like he's behind Ricky Stuart coaching style and vision.
Yeah great to see him showing his support and supporting the club vision through our tough times. He should be more involved with the club, he has a good head on his shoulders.
Noticed this says it is Part 2, where is part 1?
Part 1 was last week mate, you will find it on the Parra site somewhere. It was him talking about Big Jack.
I love Sterlo, wish he would be involved in the club as a whole, pity his commitments with nine keep him away.
Interesting that it is on parraeels.com despite Sterlo being somewhat critical of the 'front office'.
I wonder how Spags would have reacted to it?
"Mr Sterling, you've been summoned by his Graciousness the Spags today for speaking out against the Board..."
Yep IH8M - cancellation of his life membership is in the mail. LOL.
Ahhh but it's great to c him wearing the B&G. His peers may rate Joey as the best half in the game but in my very biased viewpoint its Sterlo. Absolutely the ultimate half.
I like your loyalty, Michael. I'm pretty biassed too, but even I've got to admit that Johns is the best player I have ever seen. There's alot of other contenders, but what separates Johns from Sterlo is that Johns could do it all, including being a great goal-kicker. He was lethal in attack and had no problem putting men twice his size on their backsides. Sterlo is one of the best, Johns is the best.
