There's truth to that. They have the wrong approach , they pick coaches based on their days of playing and not on their player bonding and selection ability. They have always picked teams of individual stars and not blokes willing to go to war for the jersey.
I hate Ricky Stuart , but he's origin coaching approach was suited . He obviously didn't have some big golden period as the NSW coach , but he's still the personality I feel is needed as the NSW coach. How Daley thought Matt King and Brett White would be his best choice as assistants.
I think Toovey would do well, even Dean Pay. Players who know what it is like to rely on passion and effort to succeed and will fire up the players.
The slow starts in game 2 and 3 show that the coaches had the players under done or don't know how to get them motivated and in the right frame of mind.

Now for the real competition to begin.
Daley should be sacked immediately. He can not coach to save he's life. BA could of done a better job .He got lucky in the first game, only because QLD probably played the worst game of that they could play. There needs to be a clean out with the playing group. Cleary does not get picked again either!
Funniest thing the last Brian To'o try against a fast moving defense putting the ball in behind them off a quick play the ball I mean the blues took 79 minutes to employ this tactic.Instead all they have was a high ball hit and hope for Lomax.
Billy Slater puts the hammer at fullback after the Ponga injury doesn't fall for the Walsh form at the Broncs sticks with the Hammer.This is the type of coach that will succeed long term making key selections and game plans accordingly..Understands they can't win the beat up so employs a mobile game plan quick play the balls and there halves decide the result.
