          Yeah that was a good era - from memory McCrack and Pay had left in 2000? I recall Kidwell there too, and a half called Dennis Moran. I was at the Easts semi and then Penrith one and also Prelim Final against Broncos.

          Moran was v skillful and we also had Ben Kusto!! The Super League era was needed for us as we were struggling and while i liked Fitzy we were not doing a lot....then SL came along and Fitz seeing the alignment got the BIg 4 along with poor Adam Ritson and more. 

          Shame the current heirarchy cannot pull off anything concrete with recruitment.

    💯 basically Eels success relies on recruitment and  juniors taking the next step.

    Ive said this for years but the Eels badly need players with urgent athleticism especially in the outside backs.Even with JAC we are sadly lacking in the urgent athleticism area.

    Even the great Penrith Panthers have the ability now to play out of system with Edwards Maclean Milky and Alomoti all having the ability to change games we just don't have that and for me the back 5 can really change your fortunes.

    You look at all the teams who have the xfactor a lot of that starts with he athleticism of there back 5s.Dolphins and Knights are prime examples with Riff and the Roosters are not to far behind.It's so key in the modern game but seemingly through one reason or another we aren't targeting it or we can't recruit our targets

    Apparently as reported we have a hitlist.If we are unable to land any one of significance on that list we may aswell forget finals.
