*OFFICIAL* Spencer Leniu joins the Eels

Parramatta Eels are excited to announce the signing of premiership-winning forward Spencer Leniu on a four-year contract commencing in the 2027 NRL season.
One of the game's most dynamic and impactful middle forwards, Leniu brings an outstanding experience to the Blue and Gold, including four NRL premierships, State of Origin honours for New South Wales, and international representative experience with Samoa.

At just 26 years of age, Leniu has already established himself as one of the competition's premier enforcers, renowned for his explosive carries, physical presence and ability to change the momentum of a match.

Parramatta Eels General Manager of Football Mark O'Neill said securing a player of Leniu's calibre was a major boost for the Club's future.

"We're thrilled to have Spencer join the Parramatta Eels and become part of what we're building at this Club. He's one of the elite middle forwards in the game and has consistently performed on the biggest stages throughout his career.

“We're excited to welcome Spencer and his family into the Eels community. We know he'll make a tremendous contribution both on and off the field, and we can't wait to see him in Blue and Gold,” said O’Neill.

Leniu will join the Eels squad for pre-season training later this year.

    • I think you will find that he will be the centre of attention untill the first person comes up with "he doesn't have to perform untill the 3rd year" when he will only have the final year commitment.

Not that a true Parramatta supporter would say that!

  • Probably one of our better signings over recent times!

    now get some outside backs!

  • Great news... finally.

  • Great signing if we can get the best out of him.

He has excellent potential and he hasn't reached his ceiling. Four years is the right timing, means we get him for his best years.

I assume we're not planning on using him as bench impact which has been where he's been super successful. We'll have to wait and see if he can up his minutes and maintain his intensity without losing his head or his momentum.

We have been missing aggression for years, this is a great step in the right direction.

Looks good in the blue & gold

    Now for Bradman B

  • We prolly overpaid again for the minutes we will get out of him.

  • We finally sign a decent forward and some of the comments here are so negative. Fk this place is so depressing...

  • One thing for sure, he can keep his mouth shut. Luke Keary asked him weeks ago about it, to which he responded it was news to him. Big kudos for him there.

    Finally some good bloody news!!

    • Made Keary look like an idiot.

But he's also very much a man of his word and also when the whole Mam thing happened, he said Mam called him a coconut first but kept it to himself as what happens on field stays on field.

He is all about justice to those who do him wrong but he is also loyal. Ryles could get a lot out of him.
