HE IS only 16 years of age but flying back William Kei looks something special.
Kei is a tryscoring machine. In just nine games this, the Eels junior has racked up an incredible 19 tries to go with his match-winning four-pointer for NSW against QLD in the Under 16s.
He may be a few years off first grade but this kid sure looks the goods.

You are right Col, this kid looks really good. I'l remember his name.
Ray, don't write off some of those young players yet. There is another breed of young players coming through the system these days. A couple of them have had runs in the NYC for experience. Think some of these, think Bevan French.
Goodall also was in the Manly system before the eels .Some players also over value themselves at an early stage, get offered more money to move & accept it, Tony Williams, Danial Topou, Chooks Matterson are current players, that also fit that mold, Williams is now basically finished as a top line forward.
Another of Goodall's lower grade team mates was also signed by Manly from the eels system. Thing to remember that the eels junior teams include many young players from outside the area itself, who come to the eels hopping for development & a contract latter in life. Some from the bush also come for better education & employment opportunities than in their home towns.
Again on that note think Bevan French & his home town of Tingha, population under 1000, not much for employment there, even at the closest big location of Inverell
Ray, how old is he? He's a way off the top yet, I watched them here at Wyong this year both the jnr rep teams, & the Wyong teams are not bad & some big boppa's in them the two eels sides had it all over the opposition. There's some exciting players in those teams but again they are a way off.
I posted this thread after reading the bit on RLW or foxsports, I didn't make the video or comments, just posted the link for interest. These tapes are likely put out by many people, which includes spotters from every NRL club, they capture the whole game, every game go through & pick out the highlights especially of those players who show promise, if you are so well in the know, then you would understand that, but I don't get to many games these days, but those that I do, I go to each grade, rather than just the NRL one, & also I take an interest in the jnr games, & always have.
Over the years I've seen many promising players come through the jnr league, old AMCO cup & the like, & there are countless numbers & names that spring to mind that killed those comps, & not just from the eels arena either, but many made one top run on side & never seen again.
Go back in time, when the preseason training & trial matches were played & there were in their 100's, kids from the district & from the bush, those who just hopped to produce something along with those invited to trial. ZThe selectors had to whittle down the numbers so that when the final gradings were released for the 3, they had around 50, which included the top contracted players.
To me, there's nothing more to enjoy than seeing clips of potentially future players especially if they come through the system, besides I doubt that many of them these days would have inflated ego's, note I didn't say any. Those who have them usually don't last long with the eels nor at other clubs either.
