This is what he says:
"I remember when I first started coaching at the Roosters. It was my first season and after eight rounds we were 1-7. Just one win.
Our confidence was down and we were struggling to find anything that might pick us up and help us break through for a win. The answer was quite simple. Even a little cliched.
I was talking to Phil Gould and he said to sing like no one's listening and dance like no one's watching.
The message was simple: do what you do, and don't be pressured into behaving in a way that's not natural.
It freed us up and soon after we won.
Then we were on our way.
The players picked up individually, the negative fears went out of our play as a team, we found some momentum and we began to win regularly. If I was ever going to walk away from coaching, it would have been then. But we stuck it out and, five months later, we won the competition."
