Whilst visiting the Henty Field days on Tuesday I decided to have a free skin check.There was a van set up for the purpose.The skin specialist found a mole on my neck that she was very concerned about, after conferring her colleagues and with my consent we decided to have it removed.The mole was in a position on my neck that was not very visible.They have sent it off for testing and will contact me the results next week.I think it's imperative that everyone gets a yearly skin check.Thanks to lovely doctors at Henty for their empathy and quick action.Take care every one out there in Parraland

Good luck with the test results Mick. Benign is good in this context! This is a good reminder that anyone getting on in age should get these checks. Why do we ignore sound preventive care? We all know it's silly to avoid preventive care but maybe we all fear the bad results? Ignorance is not bliss, of course!

Can’t agree more. The last few years I have had a few things cut out and burnt off. These were things my GP noticed and acted on. I should have gone for a full skin check as late last year I was diagnosed with stage 3 melanoma and they could not find the primary source. Probably was there and my immune system beat it up but not before some cancer cells spread. A good chance it would have been found if I had done a yearly skin check as you suggest.
